Rethinking the whole country

Repeal and replace? How about the Second Amendment?

"A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Setting aside the antique strangeness of the wording, isn't it time to give thought to the values that permeated the era in which it was written -- and who, exactly, "the people" were to which it referred?
