Your Say …

HUBRISTIC PRIDE OF THE MONTH:

“No, I can’t go shopping in ‘my’ Vantage.”

First, a correction

After reading your June 2018 comparison tests, I need help understanding fuel costs as calculated by IntelliChoice. I first noticed that the Tiguan and the Volvo had similar EPA combined ratings (23 versus 24 mpg) and that the Tiguan specified regular fuel while the Volvo specified premium. So I expected that fuel costs would be similar, with better mileage (Volvo) offsetting the higher cost of premium. I was surprised that the fuel cost for Tiguan was significantly higher than for Volvo. It appears that the same price per gallon was used for both cars.

So I also looked at the other three comparisons and got totally messed-up results. Perhaps you can explain how IntelliChoice calculates fuel costs so I can return to my normal sleep cycle. And yes, I have a particularly uninteresting lifestyle.
