Yoga for refugees

How did the Refugee Yoga Project come to life in Australia? During my time living in London, I worked with the Hackney Yoga Project (now called Ourmala), which was hosting weekly yoga classes for asylum-seeking and refugee women. I felt inspired by the impact the yoga classes were having.

When I returned to Australia, I was interested in being a part of a similar program but wasn’t able to find one. I worked with the Vasudhara Foundation to develop a two-month pilot program here, offering weekly yoga classes to refugee
