have stopped in Ypres many times on the way to or from Calais, but never really explored it. I’ve also never witnessed the daily memorial service at the Menin Gate. This memorial to the unknown soldier commemorates those who gave their lives in the First World War but don’t have a grave or whose bodies were never found.
