How long have you been growing veg and what made you choose giant/exhibition veg growing?

I used to visit my grandad’s allotment from a very young age and used to help him tend to his exhibition chrysanthemums and leeks. At the age of 12 I got my first allotment. I grew various vegetables but mainly had poultry – chickens, geese, pheasants, peacocks and many more. I used to breed them and sell the young birds at auction.
