New dawn for West Coast as Avanti begins

THE new West Coast Partnership consortium of First Group and Trenitalia has chosen the Italian word ‘Avanti’ as the brand name for its Intercity services out of Euston to the Midlands, North Wales, Northern England and Scotland.

‘Avanti’ is the Italian word for ‘forward’ or ‘let’s go’, and the branding includes a triangle that represents connecting England, Wales and Scotland.

The consortium started running services on before departure. Classmate No. 390155 was also in service that day sporting the new look.
