A NATION DIVIDED

8 MAY 1945

In accordance with the London Protocols agreed upon by the Allied powers the previous year, Germany and Berlin are each divided into four blocs, each to be overseen by one of the Allied forces.

INTERZONENPASS

29 OCTOBER 1946

A new pass, valid for 30 days only, is introduced called the Interzonenpass that allows movement between East and West Berlin. It’s the first sign that movement between sectors will be challenging.
