For those who don’t know, a number of EMS VCS3s and Synthi A synths were fitted with a Presto Patch slot. This widget consisted of a tiny slab of Vero board onto which a few traces had been etched and a few resistors inserted, creating a pre-fab signal path. Once inserted, the user adjusted knobs to match a diagram on the Presto Patch casing. Theoretically, a preset sound would then be heard.
