How to slow your fashion habit

Consumer demands for cheap clothing have placed an enormous strain on our planet, with ‘fast fashion’ the second biggest polluter in the world after the oil industry.

Polyester is one of the most common fabrics and is essentially a plastic. The manufacturing of polyester uses millions of barrels of oil every year as it’s a synthetic, petroleum-based fibre. These non-biodegradable synthetic fibres have also been found to shed tiny particles during every wash, releasing millions of microplastics into the water supply.
