TEMPTING FATE

In the coastal town of Wilhelmshaven, the Hӧgel family were well respected members of society. They were Catholic.

The father was a qualified nurse, whilst the mother was a trained lawyer’s assistant.

They were kind and loving parents, so everyone had high hopes for their two children, especially their son Niels.

He was a charming young boy, but after his parents briefly split when he was 11, he assumed the role of class clown.
