Living With PCOS

At 26, I was in what many would consider to be the prime of my life. Young, carefree, revelling in Sydney life and excelling - to say the least - as a sought-after marketing contractor.

I was heavily interested in my health, and was an eager entrepreneur carving out success with my new business venture. I took pride in the face I showed the world and, as so many of us do when young, gave very little credence to what my body was telling me.

My priorities were simple: I wanted to change the world and people around me with health, and at the same time I wanted to focus on my personal growth. Ironic now, as I had no idea of what was to come …

Over the past decade, from when I was 16, I’d only ever experienced irregular menstrual cycles. I had acne that was on and off in severity, and was no stranger to depression. At that young age I had also received a diagnosis of an underactive thyroid, and according to various doctors, “ovaries that hadn’t fully developed.”
