Planting the seeds of technology

he agri-tech sector is a new introduction to the local market. It is a promising industry as it combines two features that have the potential to create a competitive advantage for Lebanon, namely the culinary arts and technical innovation. Berytech, the startup incubator and accelerator, introduced the first agri-tech acceleration program to the country in 2017. This program is funded by grants from the Dutch government. In addition to the Agrytech accelerator, Berytech has also launched an agri-food cluster to foster innovation among existing food companies. Berytech is also participating in agri-tech programs financed by the European Union. The startups that have graduated from the Agrytech Program span a wide spectrum of subsectors
