There’s a period of my life I think of as the Dark Ages. It started when I left my job 23 years ago and became a mother. I should point out that I adore being a mum and that, as an only child, I’d always dreamed of having a little gang of my own. Along came our twin boys, followed by a daughter, and it was marvellous, apart from the fact that I missed my office madly – all the fun, the camaraderie and being part of a team.
