Born and raised just a few miles from London’s Olympic Stadium, Lutalo Muhammad’s love of taekwondo began aged three. His father, Wayne, passed on his experience in martial arts and the protégé soon showed his own eye-catching ability.

In 2011, Muhammad junior took part in the ‘Fighting Chance’ talent identification programme and was selected to join the GB Academy. Within a year he’d won a European title, and he was on the podium at the London Olympics, having secured a bronze in the under 80kg category.
