Released in 1997 on five CDs, it improved on the original’s visuals, and this time included actual inhabitants. Its puzzles were more coherent, although 80 per cent are said to have failed to complete them, and the videos of Rand and Robyn Miller look more professional, less basement-y. It was a bestseller, but commercially unsuccessful compared to its predecessor, and not as feted by fans.
