MEMORIES OF MARION

I FIRST met Marion Mould, then Coakes, in the back of a Land Rover. We were driving through the New Forest with her father Ralph at the wheel. I was with my friends and their dad, who was looking for a suitable pony for one of his children.

We’d all piled into the car and driven into the Forest to look at ponies and when I first saw Marion,
