True colours, shining through

READING about Yard-O-Led (), I recalled buying my husband a propelling pencil decades ago. At my request, he dug deep inside his bedside drawer, but the only pencil he found was black. On closer inspection, I could discern the maker’s name: Yard-O-Led. After vigorous cleaning (by me, I might add), a), complete with his initials engraved. It might have been thrown out otherwise, so thank you, COUNTRY LIFE .
