The inspiration behind Hazel was a great soundtrack and the ’70s goddess museIn a scene of over-designed restaurants, it was imperative for The Stella Collective to create an interior that was accessible, minimalist and smart. By considering proportion, material and context, with no ‘on-trend’ finishes and furniture, Hazel is an interior that is bold in its liberation. The Stella Collective had a very limited budget for the project, picking up lighting for less than $100 in some of the spaces. The bathrooms were an opportunity for Hana Hakim to create an element of the unexpected and step out from the neutral palette used elsewhere.
