The Grand COFFEE MAKER THE HOWARD SHULTZ STORY

Howard D. Schultz was born on July 19, 1953, in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of three, he moved with his family to the Bayview housing project in Canarsie, southeast Brooklyn. Schultz is a born athlete, leading the home basketball court and school football field. In 1970, he escaped from Canarsie to Northern Michigan University on a football scholarship. After Schultz received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Northern Michigan University in 1975, he found a job as an equipment salesman for Hammarplast, a company that sold European coffee machines in the United States.
