Vitamins and minerals are required for nearly all metabolic and developmental processes. The ones I recommend have a multivitamin / mineral blend featuring activated vitamins, including folate as 5-MTHF (5-methyltetrahydrofolate), and Albion chelated mineral complexes, because these are well absorbed.

I also recommend a supplement that includes bioavailable B vitamins. Recent evidence suggests that dietary intake of B vitamins, including B6, B9, and B12, helps regulate cortisol, which in excess drives the body to store fat, as well as creating other metabolic havoc. The B vitamins do their job by supporting the function of your adrenal glands, which secrete cortisol and other stress hormones.
