Growing Guavas: Part 3
Young guava trees should be well established, growing vigorously, and preferably at least a year old, before they are given any fertiliser.
When applying fertiliser, never work it into the soil or apply it against the trunks of the young trees. Instead, spread it evenly about 200mm from the stem to about 500mm outside the drip area of the tree, and follow this with a light, controlled irrigation.
The table below indicates the quantity of fertiliser required as the tree grows.
