About this audiobook
A talented painter in her early thirties, Paris Sweeney has achieved enviable success: her work sells at an exclusive New York City gallery, and her popularity is at an all-time high. Life is good, and Sweeney, as she prefers to be called, is content.
But lately, Sweeney’s dreams seem to echo a growing restlessness that has taken hold of her. Suddenly, impulsively, Sweeney falls into a night of intense passion with millionaire Richard Worth. Now, the true dangers of her all-consuming urges are about to be revealed where Sweeney least expects it: in her paintings.
After a creative frenzy she can barely recall, Sweeney discovers she has rendered a disturbing image—a graphic murder scene. Against her better instincts, she returns to the canvas time and again, filling out each chilling detail piece by piece. But when a shattering, real-life murder mirrors her creation, Sweeney falls under suspicion. With every stroke of her brush, she risks incriminating herself with her inexplicable knowledge of a deadly crime. And every desire—including her hunger for Richard—is loaded with uncertainty as Sweeney races to unmask a killer.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A very talented painter named Sweeney has achieved what few do at her age of 31. She has achieved renown success in the art field and has made herself a comfortable sum along the way. She sells and displays her work at the upscale New York City gallery with her only friend and gallery director. Her life couldn't be better, or could it?
What she doesn't tell her friend is that she seems to mysteriously wake in the wee hours of the morning and paints vivid and horrifying scenes of mayhem and murder without remembering! The latest, a disturbing and gruesome murder scene that happens right after she paints scares her into revealing it to a trusted friend and lover. The information gets to the police investigating the murder and she is thrust into the limelight as the prime suspect.
A little bit of the supernatural, some romance, some intrigue. The book was very good. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked this. The falling in love was fast, but also very sweet. Heroine was a little bit too fragile, but not so much that it took away from the story. The hero was good, a little too perfect, but again it didn’t take away anything from the story. The mystery part was obvious, but still an interesting read
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I have read all her books and so far, she has not disappoint me.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Read this years ago, but reading it again was even better than I remember. I loved Sweeney and her natively and her out look at life. She was inherently good and couldn't see that others were just smarmy. Richard finally got his chance with Sweeney and he took it. I loved how it all played out. Especially the ending never thought it was her..
Great read - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Excellent story. I didn't know who the killer was until the very end. Well developed characters & interesting multi-layered plot. Recommend reading this.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Enjoyable romantic suspense with a good plot and I always like a hero determined to get his woman. It was refreshing to see a heroine who was honest and open about her feelings. Artist Sweeney is discovering she has special abilities and finds herself attracted to her friends soon to be ex-husband.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was ok but not one of my favorites of this author.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If you are a fan of myster, love and the supernatural you will love this book by Linda Howard. Sweeney moves to New York after finding that small town life and ghost don't work. Sweeny shows her work the gallery of soon to be Richard's ex-wife. Richard has always been attracted to Sweeny but she never seems to see her until one afternoon when they meet at the gallery and Richard pushes to become part of Sweeny's life. Soon after they start talking Sweeny's starts painting horrific scenes in her sleep.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5B-. This was one of the first Linda Howard books I read and it didn't hold up as well on re-read (listen?). It wasn't helped that the copy I had was faint and hard to hear (this is hard to get and I picked it up from a kind friend - not her fault that the quality was a bit down as it had been transferred from audio cassette). Dream Man was better.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5An artist, Paris Sweeney, sees ghosts and paints murders that haven't happened yet. Top-notch sensual romantic thriller.
