Reviews for The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace
28 ratings5 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5While I appreciate the information and tools, it was more of a long advertisement for their MBA inventory.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The author of the love languages concept teamed with business consultant to apply the idea to work. I found the result meaningful and the adaptation practical. For example, touch has been deprecated to a suitable place, and there is recognition that the top needs can be met in varying ways depending on the situation. What I found most valuable was the point that recognition and appreciation are two different things. Appreciation can be applied more broadly, and perhaps more authentically.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Whether or not you are a fan of Gary Chapman's 5 Love Languages books, you will enjoy this book and benefit socially in your work place by knowing how to appropriately affirm and appreciate your colleagues in the way that is meaningful to them.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What a way to look at the love languages. Great read.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5If you already read The 5 languages of love, then this is a waste of your time and money. And if you havent already read the 5 languages of love, read that instead, this is still a waste of your time and money. This version is a blatant money grab by a businessman to sell Chapman's awesome personality theories to middle managers with expense accounts for books. Only the first chapters where they sum up Chapmans findings are of any value, the rest is drivel trying to sell their "online service" to identify your staffs' personalities. Stick to the original text or audio book red by Chapman, he's a great speaker and reading his own writings . White's reading here is souless and hollow, and adds nothing of any real value to the original 5 languages concept of communication.
