      Its been many years since I last read this and it was better than I remember it being and more nonsensical. I think my memory of the book had been warped by the movies (just a bit crap especially the most recent Johnny Depp one!).

      I loved Sally Field's Voice. I would love all children's books to be narrated by her.

      I absolutely love this book. It's complete nonsense of course, but that's the great thing about it. Alice, a little girl, falls down a rabbit hole and enters Wonderland, filled with talking animals and strange creatures, and a pack of cards that has a life of its own. It's a dream, and like most dreams it makes absolutely no sense at all. It was one of my favourite books as a child, so I decided to re-read it after 30 odd years, and I'm glad I did. It made me laugh out loud.

      I downloaded the classic Alice in Wonderland onto my iPhone - an iPad would have been nicer to read it on! But I did enjoy reading it in the car, in waiting rooms, etc. My daughter also read the story and then we downloaded the audiobook which she listened to in the car the entire way home from Vancouver. I hadn't read this book in a very long time and did miss the pictures in the format I read it in. It is an amazing and almost eerie wonderful children's story.

      Really a children's book, but I love the imaginative story telling and the whimsical dialogue. None of the films have ever done it justice. If you only know this tale through movies, do yourself a favor and read the book. Better yet, read it to a child ;-)

      Nonsensical for certain! Alice's adventures in Wonderland, complete with size changes, talking animals, vengeful queens, and mad hat-makers, can be difficult to follow with all the frequent changes and tangents. However, this very nature also hints at Carroll's genius in capturing the momentary thoughts of a person (however senseless), giving a new depth to a magical adventure.

      I was a bit disappointed by this version of the book since it was abridged and also didn't include the drawings. However, it is still a delightful story of traveling to a bizarre land where time, space and size are interchangeable, and the characters are amusing and memorable. I thoroughly enjoyed revisiting Alice's Adventures in Wonderland after so many years!

      The edition I read was actually an online version with the same illustrations and everything. It is a rather fun book, and is certainly far deeper than the "children's book" that it is depicted to be on its surface. I wouldn't say I loved it, but it was certainly worth finally reading the book behind a story I have heard so much about. The language twists alone made it well worth it, as there is definitely a lot of creativity there.

      Okay, so we all know this story, most of us know it very well. It's an absurd children's book, and as I listened, I kept thinking about how much my preschool aged granddaughters would love the overall silliness of this classic.

      I listened to the new Audible production performed by Scarlett Johannson. I was very impressed with her ability to change voices, which was so extreme, I wondered how much of it was done in post-production. If it is all her, with no electronic modification, I'm very impressed. Movie directors should be able to utilize her voice skills for so many characters.

      At any rate, the rating is primarily from the performance. Surprisingly, I am not a fan of the story at all (I'm not a fan of absurdist literature - it's like bizarro books today: completely senseless). Oh well, to each his own.

      I'd recommend this for people who enjoy classic children's literature and for those who enjoy hearing a book skillfully read.

      I read this book but in the 1865 version. It was a great and very enjoyable. It was originally written for the entertainment of children but its wittiness and written points of view attracted adult readers as well. The nonsense in the story allows adult readers to think as a child does as well as thinking outside the box. The story is filled with different characters and personalities, which have been thought to represent the different personalities of Lewis Carroll.

      While the story is creative, it is also a lot of nonsense. Albeit is supposed to be a dream, it is rather bizarre. I find it odd that the story has such renown. I mildly recommend this book mainly for the value of being familiar with the story because it is so well known.

      I read this book long ago while in middle school, and viewed it as simply a silly and nonsensical children's fantasy.However, I just re-read it, having become aware that this book is famous for it's allegoric philosophical and mathematical conceptions.The unbelievable, child like fantasy world of Wonderland is charming, and filled with things such as lakes made of tears, Mad Hatters, the Queen of Hearts, rabbit holes, and clocks that don't tell time.However, while this aspect is what meets the readers eye upon a first, cursory impression, this intricate book has far more depth, if you care to look.There is a strong sense of logic - almost in a satirical fashion, through-out the book. The concept of limit, inverse relationships, and mathematical logic is scattered through the plot, but mainly and most noticeably found at the Mad Tea Party and the first scene with the Cheshire Cat.Whether you care to look deeply into it, or simply leave "Alice in Wonderland" as a unique and inventive children's fantasy, this book is amazing!

      I loved this book. I did read Project Gutenberg EText no. 11?however, they've updated it since then, apparently, as I read it long before the date mentioned of its publication.       Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is not one of my favorite books. But this edition has really marvelous graphics that improve upon the story. If you like this book, this edition would certainly be worth adding to your collection as it is beautiful.

      At first I thought that this was a story that I would love to read to my children. However, after reading this I am not so sure. There were times when I laughed at the child-like humor and then there were times when I was just like what? Some of the logic and the tales told in this story were hard to follow, so I am pretty sure it would be hard for children as well. I do understand the moral behind the story though. If you ever need to take a step back from stressful everyday life then this may be the story for you.

      This may be my new favourite edition of this book! The illustrations and the layout are simply wonderful. I am just so impressed with this book!I love the ?Alice? books by Lewis Carroll. I love the clever word play throughout as well as the wonderful imagery. Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland has some of the best nonsense poems in it as well as some fascinating philosophical questions. The Cheshire Cat?s statement about everyone being mad is an interesting statement. Is everyone really mad or is it just perception? Alice provides an interesting view into this world where everything is topsy-turvy. I just find the set up and the craziness very interesting.The illustrations and layout of this book are so perfect for Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland that it?s incredible. One of my favourite things was that each chapter started in very large print and slowly shrunk so that by the end of the chapter?s first page the text is down to the size it is on every other page. This is a great design choice because of the constant size shifts throughout the entire book. Alice never really knows from one minute to the next what size she is going to be and the size change in the text really reflects those changes.The illustrations themselves are very interesting. The photographer, Mr. Morell, cut out and sometimes enlarged the classic illustrations for this book by Tenniel. Then he set them up in small scenes using books, props, plants and various other things and photographed the result. The pictures he created are so wonderful! They use books in particular in a wonderful way. The rabbit hole is a hole through a book, the tea table (where the interesting and funny word play conversations take place) is a dictionary, and Alice?s giant hand reaches out of a book for the white rabbit when she has grown to fill his house. The images are simply incredible! I just love the cleverness of the choices. The lighting and placement is always perfect, like in the Cheshire Cat image where the shadow creates a second tree trunk making the image even more confusing and magical than it was originally!This book is wonderfully put together. I love the images and the book is really one of my favourite stories. I wish I could find Through the Looking Glass done by this illustrator! I highly recommend this book. If you are looking for a really good edition of Alice?s Adventures in Wonderland, this is the one to get!

      A classic! How can one review 'Alice in Wonderland'?

      I'm just going to go ahead and review 'Alice' along with 'Through the Looking Glass'.

      The Walrus and the Carpenter is and will always be my all time favorite part of these books. Such a blatant and wonderful commentary on both eastern and wester religions. I'm just going to go ahead and admit that most of my favorite parts of the book come from the best parts of the (original) animated Disney adaptation.

      Cheshire Cat - every time I see a quarter-moon -- it's a Cheshire Cat smile to me.

      Queen of Hearts and the White Queen.

      Jabberwocky.

      The sneezing baby/pig.

      Oh, so many things to love.

Alice goes on many adventures in this book.Subject and tag headings would be imaginary My Response: I didn't really like this book there is no way any of this can happen this is fantasy the movie to this actually use to give me nightmares when I was younger. I remember I would have dreams where Alice would be big a giant and I would see her coming towards me trying to get me and like step on me and squish me. so yea I did not like the book or the movie for that matter also.

      Wonderful, nonsensical romp through a fantasy world. The characters are quirky and appealing, Alice is curious but goes along with things quite nicely. Be warned: if you are looking for a book that makes sense and is easy to follow, this is not for you! It's easy to see why this has tale captivated readers young and old for over 100 years.

      This is the traditional story of Alice, who falls through the rabbit whole and ends up in Wonderland where she runs into all kinds of characters and adventures. Once we realize that Alice?s adventure is only a dream we see through her sister that Wonderland is actually in the Farm yard all around them if only they close their eyes and imagine.I?ve always enjoyed the story of Alice in Wonderland with all the unexpected characters. It doesn?t matter what version of the book is read, the book is a celebration of a child?s imagination.I would use this book to introduce creative writing in my English class with 3rd or 4th graders. This story can also be used in Science to discuss the human body and how it grows.

      Timeless, relatable story for many young readers. Fosters and an amazing sense of imagination. Student learn that whenever they face an obstacle they can overcome it. One theme in this book is life being a puzzle. This story is similar to how a child might think. I think it would be a very good book to use in the classroom.
