About this audiobook
#1 New York Times bestselling author Iris Johansen explores the darkest corners of the human heart as forensic sculptor Eve Duncan closes in on the killer who stole her daughter so many years ago.
As a former Navy SEAL turned cop, Joe Quinn has seen the face of evil and knows just how deadly it can be. When he first met Eve Duncan, he never expected to fall in love with a woman whose life would be defined by her dual desires to bring home her missing daughter and discover the truth behind her disappearance—no matter how devastating. With the help of CIA agent Catherine Ling, they make a shocking discovery that sheds new light on young Bonnie's abduction and puts Quinn squarely in the crosshairs of danger. Eve's first love, John Gallo, a soldier supposedly killed in the line of duty, is very much alive—and very much a threat.
Emotionally charged, with one shock after another, Quinn reveals the electricity of Joe and Eve's first connection, and how they fell in love in the midst of haunting tragedy. As their search takes them deeper and deeper into a web of murder and madness, Joe and Eve must confront their most primal fears . . . and test their resolve to uncover the ultimate bone-chilling truth.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is the second book into finding out what happened to Bonnie. This was a great read I really enjoy it. Loved the suspense.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Well, during the reading it was very easy to dip into the plot. Also I've never read a book by Johansen I was getting very quick familiar with the characters. Mostly it was gripping and I liked the different views to solve the case. BUT I was really disappointed at the end, because there is no end. On the backside of the book cover is written: . . . and test their resolve to uncover the ultimate bone-chilling truth.Well, I can turn and shift the book as much as I like, I can re-read the last pages as often as possible BUT there isn't any bone-chilling thruth. It's an abrupt end and as a reader I've been left in a vacuum. In my opinion this is an absolutely NO-GO.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I didn't think it was going to be alot of new angles to Eve and Quinn relationship. When Cathrine found out that Bonnie's fother was still alive and he was in Gorgia around the same time Bonnie went missing.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I had a problem getting into this story, very slow starting. Read 63 pages and it hadn't caught my interest yet. Bit on the dark side.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Disappointing, too much redundancy
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Johansen's fast moving prose initially offsets the melodrama. The melodrama then becomes tedious and you begin to wonder why she is dragging it out. You find out at the end, that she has no intention of pleasing her readers and only wants to sell another book. There is absolutely no reason to read this book. Even if you are a fan of the 'Eve Duncan' continuing story, this book offers absolutely nothing to the story line.
