      (Easy picture book)Naked mole rats are apalled when fellow mole rat Wilbur likes to wear clothes. They encourage him to be naked as mole rats should be and go to grand-pah mole rat for advice on how to talk sense into Wilbur. Grand-pah, surprisingly, discovers that clothes are not all that bad and joins Wilbur in donning some garb encouraging some of the other mole rats to do the same. This is a cute book done in the traditional Mo Willems style that seems to charm children to no end. I especially liked the two signs in the front end page: "No shirt, No shoes, No service" and the sign in the back end page: "Why Not?" On the last page Wilbur is seen working in his clothing store selling a shirt to a fellow mole rat with the famous Mo Willems pigeon on it! Of course most of the children were quite titallated and giggled whenever the word, "naked" was read aloud, but that's just how children are and only adds to the humor of the reading!

      I have always enjoyed this story. Naked Mole Rat shows that it is alright to be different and questions why he has to stay naked just because it has always been that way.

      Mo Willems is one of my favorite authors of childrens books and this is yet another win for him. The illustrations are borderline cute and creepy which I love and so do many children I know. The message of the story couldn't be more important.

      A good lesson in individuality kids will love. It is funny and imaginative, teaching kids to stand up for what they believe in and not go along with everyone else. 4 stars.

      Wilbur is a naked mole rat who likes to dress up. In fact he has lots of different costumes that he loves to put on! The other naked mole rats really don't understand his clothes fetish and try to shame him into giving it up. Finally, they consult the wisest naked mole rat, Grand-pah, who decrees that any naked mole rat who wants to dress up should feel free to do so.Really adorable drawings punctuate this tale about being true to yourself. I love how much personality is conveyed through the naked mole rats little beedy eyes. I like the idea that clothes are just one manifestation of self-expression. All in all it's a winning story and cute book! I have no doubt that it will go over supremely well at storytime.

      This book is funny and has a great moral to teach children. It is about a naked mole rat who likes to wear clothes and is not accepted by the other naked mole rats for this reason. He explains why he likes to wear clothes to them but they do not understand. Similarly, he does not understand why he shouldn't. They tell him over and over again that he shouldn't wear clothes and he simply asks "why not?" The grandfather of the group learns of this and decides to give it a try proclaiming that anyone that would like to wear clothes should. Everyone, no matter, their preference, can now do as they please and be accepted by the group. It's a great lesson to teach to children and everyone can benefit from a story of tolerance.The artwork is funny and simple and enjoyed by all.

      Much is said about tolerance with just a few words in this book. I like how Wilbur is able to stick to his guns regarding clothing rather than giving in to peer pressure. Additionally, he has an eclectic sense of style that I wouldn't have imagined in a naked mole rat.

      Ages 2 and Up. Another gem from Mo Willems. Wilbur is a naked mole rat who likes to get dressed up. Because of this, he is made fun of by other naked mole rats. They say that naked mole rats have never worn clothing, but Wilbur asks 'why not?' In order to solve the problem of Wilbur, the naked mole rats consult Grand-pah, who surprises them all by also asking 'why not?' Illustrations are adorable and fun, following the simple style typical of Willems in his Pigeon and Piggie and Elephant books.Recommended for all picture book collections.

      Wilbur is the only naked mole rat who likes to wear clothes, and the other naked mole rats find this disturbing. But after the leader of the naked mole rats decides he likes clothes too, all the naked mole rats find that they can wear clothes, or not, and it's fine either way!I think this is a great storytime read to talk about how we are all different and we shouldn't judge someone just because they make different choices. Also: illustrations and text are both hilarious.

      This clever tale tells of a unique naked mole rat who likes to put clothes on, something naked mole rats just don't do and the story unfolds from there.

      Absolutely delightful. Wilbur the naked mole rat is very different from the other naked mole rats: he likes to wear clothes. Completely disgusted by this, the other naked mole rats try to convince Wilbur to stay naked like them, and eventually consult the oldest and nakedest mole rat, the Grand-pah. However, his decision about Wilbur's love of clothes will surprise them all!This is a great story for kids facing peer pressure - it endorses self-acceptance without being preachy. Not all the mole rats decide to start wearing clothes, but that's okay, too.

      Wilbur is a naked mole rat that doesn't like to be naked. But he gets made fun of for wearing clothes! The other naked mole rats try to convince him to remain naked, by showing him how great and legendary Grand-pah mole rat was. But in the end, Grand-pah accepts Wilbur and wears clothes to show his support. Then all the naked mole rats follow in his footsteps and buy clothes from the shop that Wilbur has set up.

      This book is about a single rat that wears cloths when everyone else doesn't. The naked rats don't like that he wears cloths so they consult the Grand-pah rat. He decided to start wearing cloths because of the statement "Why Not." Then everyone else started to wear cloths. This book would be a good book to teach children that it's ok to be different and to be a trend setter and not to worry about what other people think.

      Wilbur is a naked mole rat who is different. He does not like being naked. So to fix this issue, Wilbur goes shopping for clothing. Every other naked mole rat has a problem with it so they confront grandpa mole rat. Grandpa mole rat tells the other rats that they should not worry about Wilbur. This is a great story to show kids about individuality and not following the crowd to conform. Children should recognize that it is better to become a trendsetter rather than a follower.

      Mo Willems is my new favorite. This book is really funny, as all of his books are. I love that Wilbur persists in his interest of clothing regardless of what the others say. The illustrations are really simple, and the lay out of the text is interesting and unique. Two thumbs up, as usual!

      about a naked mole rat named Wilbur who actually likes getting dressed, much to his peers’ chagrin. They are disgusted when they see him wearing his clothes, and coax him to go bare. He, however, likes the way his clothes allow him to try on different personas, and eventually convinces the town elder to adopt a position of “Why Not?”, thus allowing each mole rat to make their own choices regarding clothing. The moral here is “To Each His Own”, a classic American viewpoint.
