About this audiobook

Scott Cunningham's classic introduction to Wicca is about how to live life magically, spiritually, and wholly attuned with nature. It is a book of sense and common sense, not only about magick but also about religion and one of the most critical issues of today: how to achieve the much-needed and wholesome relationship with our Earth. Cunningham presents Wicca as it is today: a gentle, Earth-oriented religion dedicated to the Goddess and God. Wicca also includes Cunningham's own Book of Shadows.

I think this is one of those books that all Wiccans seem to have-it's also the one that I loan out the most and seems to take its time getting back to me (though I did finally find a spell to ensure the return of a book). Good basic information, but very light on the theology of Wicca.

I loved this book. I am a WICCA beginner and found all the necessary information for tools, rites, altars, stones, flowers, herbs, incense and prayings. You will find all you need to know to start your own path.

Cunningham's first book in solitary practice is readable and enjoyable. These books really opened up the practice of Wicca for solitaries. The book is one I find myself recommending to others very frequently, especially beginner's on the path. I find his common sense approach and his style of writing makes reading this book very enjoyable as well as informative.

I read this book years ago and felt drawn back to it recently. The library had an audiobook ready so I took it as a sign. Still a great, easy to access book.

A well written book, it does cater to the newbie, but worth reading no matter how experienced you are as it has some great tidbits and info. There are lovely little poems in the middle and some recipes. A keeper for any wiccan bookshelf

best "first book on wicca" i've seen. approachable by any age, concise, friendly style of writing, does not bash other religions. covers all the basics. list of other sources (stores, publications, etc) is outdated but could easily be updated if llewellyn chose to. grimoire offers great starting point.

While the references are dated, the information about Wicca itself is still excellent. This is an outstanding primer for anyone interested in Earth-based spiritual practice.

Good basic introduction to Wicca, but at times oversimplifies important concepts.-Mary Beth

This is a good book for anyone starting out in the practice of Wicca. I found it after I'd already been practicing for a while, so it wasn't entirely relevant for me, but there's lots of great stuff here, as is the case with most of Cunningham's books.

This is an excellent, no-nonsense guide to Wicca for anyone interested in finding out more about it or wanting to practice on their own. Includes ideas for rituals and circles as well as information on herbs and spellcraft that are practical and un-fussy. Anyone in need of a primer on Wicca could do a lot worse than to pick up this classic.
