About this audiobook
You work hard and try to save money, so why is there never enough to cover all the bills, to put some away in your child’s college fund, to pay off your credit card debt—or to relax and have some fun, for once? In the New York Times bestseller All Your Worth, mother/daughter team Elizabeth Warren and Amelia Warren Tyagi—authors of the acclaimed The Two-Income Trap—tell you the truth about money. The authors lay out a groundbreaking approach to getting control of your money so you can finally start building the life you’ve always wanted. The result of more than twenty years of intensive research, All Your Worth offers you a step-by-step plan that will let you master your finances—for the rest of your life.
The secret? It’s simple, really: get your money in balance. Warren and Tyagi show you how to balance your money into three essential parts: the Must-Haves (the bills you have to pay every month), the Wants (some fun money for right now), and your Savings (to build a better tomorrow). No complicated budgets, no keeping track of every penny. Warren and Tyagi will show you a whole new way of looking at money—and yourself—that will help you get your finances on track so you can enjoy peace of mind for the rest of your life.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5What some might consider to be common sense, others may not know about. This book, from renowned Harvard professor and bankruptcy lawyer Elizabeth Warren strives to fill in the gaps of the financial world with jargonless common sense. Even though my parents gave me a pretty stable financial education, I find this book to be encouraging without offering false promises in a time of financial unrest.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is my favorite personal finance book. The contents may or may not come as unpleasant news to some, but all the advice in this book is do-able for everyone. When people are just starting out or are getting in over their heads financially, those are the times they tend to buy this sort of book. There is nothing in this book that is not common sense, but it is presented in the most accessible way, in clear language, with an understanding that real life sometimes doesn't conform to neat charts in a book, but that as long as we make an effort to come close it will pay off. There are no outrageous promises in this book, rather the tone is one of realistic optimism, "Security is within your reach" rather than "Get rich quick!"
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have been watching Elizabeth Warren on the TARP hearings (she is overseeing them as a watchdog) and looking like a school girl is is so refreshing to see her take on all those nasty old financial tycoons. She always has the important question. I realize I had read this book before and taken from it the message that there are 3 kinds of things we will buy...the essential, the should have and the OPTIONAL. Just go slow on the don't need stuff. (I have 30 pairs of shoes...do I really need those new black sandals ?, another lip gloss, more push up bras for 15 year old granddaughter ?)Also, if you read this book a good book to add, showing what can happen if you don't follow this economist's advice is American Sucker by David DenbyBut what really grabbed me on this latest reading is her warning against debt. How to pass this on to the next generation ?Excellent book on personal finance, everyone, especially those starting out should have this book.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked the book and all the insights I got to relook my financials and how to overcome ongoing money chaos
