About this audiobook
Medium Raw marks the return of the inimitable Anthony Bourdain, author of the blockbuster bestseller Kitchen Confidential and three-time Emmy Award-nominated host of No Reservations on TV’s Travel Channel. Bourdain calls his book, “A Bloody Valentine to the World of Food and the People Who Cook,” and he is at his entertaining best as he takes aim at some of the biggest names in the foodie world, including David Chang, Alice Waters, the Top Chef winners and losers, and many more. If Hunter S. Thompson had written a book about the restaurant business, it could have been Medium Raw.
Editor's Note
Raunchy & delicious…
Bourdain’s raunchy, juicy, sweaty, and — yes — delicious follow-up to “Kitchen Confidential” is full of hilarious personal anecdotes, along with a dash of invaluable life lessons: like never touch the hollandaise at a buffet.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Huge fan of Anthony Bourdain shows - No Reservations, The Layover, and Mind of a Chef. Medium Raw is a great read/listen for an honest account of his life leading up to success. The most enjoyable part is when he goes on tangents about certain foods that are too "mainstream" or ranting about 3 michelin star Alinea not living up to the hype. Definitely worth a listen for any fan of his!

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely superb! Tony, you were a gem and there is a void in the world without you.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5If ever we could say for certain that a book could be written to perfection, I would say this would be the one.
What a gift to be able to hear the story told from the perspective of Anthony Bourdain. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Reviews must be at least 10 words. The best reviews are 25 words or more.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Hearing his voice narrating this fabulously interesting and irreverent book made me feel like he’s still with us. Wonderful listening experience.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not so entertaining as Kitchen Confidential, but always a pleasure to listen to a more mature Bourdain talking his mind.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Bourdain's dark humor will always have me in stitches no matter the medium. His stories are visceral. I will definitely be trying some of the restaurants mentioned here too!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Great fun, with interesting anecdotes. Typical Bourdain, not for the easily offended.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Loved this one, too. Felt more mature than Kitchen Confidential, and there are a lot of mentions of it and it felt like Bourdain wanted to address all the bridges he burnt with what book.
Favorite chapters:
Lust (the one about food from different parts of the world and what it's like to write about food like it's porn)
The Fury (on the cooking's genius kid, raw talent David Chang and a bit on how to decipher his enigma)
My Aim Is True (on the amazingly talented and hardworking Justo Thomas of Le Bernardin and his insane abilities to process vast amounts of fish in the morning) - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good look into Boudain's mind very different from kitchen confidential more of a trip through his restaurant "life" into his current place as a food celebrity. loved it!!!!!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5me gustarian libros en espanol .por ejemplo libros de decoracion .de cosina y de artes y el fen chui excetera???
