Reviews for The Art and Science of Personal Magnetism
5 ratings2 reviews
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5A live recording of a lecture given in the 1960's it is somewhat dated, both in psychological and philosophical content. Basically it purports that personal attractiveness is achieved through honesty with oneself, with others, and through having a true sense of purpose in life. It is, however, a nice example of mid 20th century oratory, with classical use of voice projection, terminal emphasis, leading questions, authoritative assertion, and vocal toning. A theatrical style developed in the age before microphones, and familiar to anyone who has listened to any of Winston Churchill's speeches.
