It soon becomes clear that beneath the bright lights of Europe lurks a shadowy underworld . . . and its only rule is deadly ambition.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Synopsis: Stone wakes up in Paris with no memory of the last four days of his life. He finds himself embroiled with a billionaire businessman, two mysterious women, and people trying to kill him. Dino and Viv get married; Holly moves out to focus on her job rather than on Stone. The Russians want the Addington Hotel and try to get it any way possible and a blood bath ensues.Review: This is an easy read and the story is interesting. It ties with the previous and subsequent books.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Many old friends from previous novels come to Stone Barrington's aid as Stone desperately tries to recover four missing days from his memory and figure out why he is in France all the while trying to survive the Russian mob and others that want him dead.
I have read all of Stuart Woods books and while they do not have hot, fast action on every page, they have a great deal to offer in a really good read. To begin with everyone has truck loads of money so waitng for financing for a project is never consisdered. They all have high ranking government and law enforcement connections and positions. The story moves along and you find yourself reading more and more chapters to find out what this bunch is going to do next. There are no common people in Stone Barrington's world. 4 stars and waiting for the next one. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Another fantastic novel by Stuart Woods! Can’t stop reading/listening to the Stone Barrington series!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Unintended Consequences is another fast, easy read by Mr. Woods. Stone and his multi-million dollar friends eat dinner, drive expensive cars, and get shot at while wheeling and dealing. There's always the tall blond when Holly Barker isn't around. These books are increasingly into the international spy/terrorist genre. Nothing new, but the dry humor is still entertaining.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Stone gets drugged no his way to Paris and we are off on his new adventure. The bad guys this time are Russian and seeking to take over The Arrington. Lots of action, sex, and narrow escapes but a good book for a beachy afternoon.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Unintended Consequences by Stuart Woods 2 starsOh, my, where to start with this one? Stone Barrington is back as the handsome, rich, virile, larger-than-life attorney/hero of this long running series. Widower Stone takes a mysterious journey to Europe that is eventually explained via a long, slow slog through the usual plot devices: sexy sophisticated women, car chases, helicopters, shoot-outs, rich men that may or may not have hidden agendas, spies, lies, huge amounts of money spent with reckless abandon, etc etc. One surprise-the actual sex is toned down quite a bit, oh the characters still "do it" a LOT! But with much less detail. As a quick beach read, this is ok and if you are a fan, you will only be slightly disappointed with this one; we've watched the series slide downward for at least the last 6 books so we know what we're getting when we pick it up. 2 stars
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Stone Barrington wakes up in Paris to find he has no memory of the previous four days. He spends the rest of the book trying to fill in the gaps in his memory, only to find out he's the target of the Russian mob assassins to take over his hotel interests in Beverly Hills. Fast-paced and full of the direct dialogue that has become a Woods trademark in these novels, this one reads quick and is pretty much on par with most Stone Barrington stories. Fun to read, but doesn't really require much intellectual probing to get through; this is another great beach book to hold in one hand while holding a margarita in the other. Cheers...
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Another enjoyable Stone book.
