About this audiobook

In the weeks following Aidan's betrayal, Emma has tried her best to move on. Ignoring his countless texts, voice mails, and flowers, she isn't sure she wants to be won back by him. But Aidan isn't going down without a fight-especially not until Emma lets him reveal the secret of his past that caused him to be so commitment phobic.

But fate intervenes when premature labor forces Emma on strict bed rest for two weeks. Aidan steps forward with a shocking proposal. To prove his love and commitment for her and their unborn son, he will take a leave of absence from work to care for her around the clock. Vowing to guard her heart, Emma reluctantly agrees.

While she is touched by Aidan's attentiveness and tender loving care, Emma is thrown for a loop by the amorous attentions of ER doctor, Alpesh "Pesh" Nadeen. Pesh is everything Emma could ever want-successful, stable, and ready to settle down and be a husband and father. Pesh wants nothing more than to win Emma's heart, but she is not sure she's able to give it.

Straight and to the point, I found myself fighting tears the entire way through this book! OH MY GOD! Emma hormonal. Aidan trying so hard to confess his love for her to win her back. My head was spinning and my eyes were watering! I just wanted the train wreck to jump back on track so bad!

Aidan would do anything to win Emma back; strike that, to make her happy. Even if that meant to stand back and allow another man to sweep in to make her happy. He has revealed his true intentions on wanting to give her a baby. He has done everything he could possibly imagine to show her he truly loves her. However, Emma just cannot get past the fact that he ran from his feelings and betrayed her. He allows himself to feel the pain of possibly losing her to another man to show her just how much he loves her. Now that is love, isn’t it? Just when he is ready to give up…… (haha, don’t you wish I would finish this sentence!)

3.5 stars - too sweet, some angst but not enough to give it that something extra it needed to increase my rating. 1st book was much better.

The story was a fine story... the h was well-defined. The H wasn't so much -- I kept expecting him to be a player, but he wasn't, but the author didn't really help out with that one. The author gave him a reputation as a womanizer that we heard of, but didn't see (until near the very end of this half of the whole story). Also, we finally have characters a bit older than the norm -- thirty-somethings rather than twenty-somethings, a pleasant change from the too-many fresh-from-college H and h. Finally, families are a part of the story! A pleasant change from drinking buddies and sorority-sister-like friends. The story, the characters, the development, the dialog, the believe-ability, with all this, I would rate the book least 3.5 stars. A very enjoyable read. Not literature, but entertaining.

But not all is so simple!

Be forewarned, fellow Readers (and other indie writers), this story is not complete! Katie Ashley ends the book JUST BEFORE THE CLIMAX (not THAT climax!!! I'm talking about the story element "climax" -- just before the rising action peaks and we draw toward the plot resolution), she leaves us with a cliffhanger and no foreshadowing of resolution. The story is continued in The Proposal. Of course, the sequel is named The Proposal and you think I am the moron who can't figure out how the story will conclude. There is a happily ever after, but to know it requires a second book -- that's the con that makes me upset. The story is good and yet the author had to be greedy by not finishing the story in one book, but cause me to shell out another $11.99 (yes, that's what was charged for EACH book when I bought them -- I actually bought the two books in one purchase, but not knowing I was buying two halves of one story... I thought the sequel was a true sequel, not the other half) to find out how the ending (the proposal) actually came about. You and she may think she was very successful -- she sucked me in with good enough reviews that I went ahead and bought the second (once again, you think I'M the moron!) There will not be a second time for me with this author (You know that adage? The one about First Time Shame on You, Second Time Shame on Me). I will not be suckered in by Katie Ashley again, IF I decide to read another of her books -- not likely to happen any time soon.

One more irksome thing.... who DOUBLE SPACES these days?!?!?!? Not only was one good story divided into two books, but the author double spaced and even inconsistently triple spaced at new paragraphs! Seriously?!?!? A cheap ploy to add pages (343 pages for book 1 and 410 pages for book 2) and mark-up your product with "fillers".

I seriously implore those reading this review (writers and readers alike), give thoughtful consideration to purchasing these books (or self-publishing in this manner). The story is an entertaining, easy-to-read, no-moral-lessons included chick-lit story, but certainly NOT worth the $24.00 I paid or the current Amazon price of $22.78 for paperbacks. Even the Kindle price of $2.99 EACH is overreaching.

Katie Ashley, you've taught me a lesson I won't soon forget. You and other Indie Writers should have more confidence in your abilities than to cheat, con and deceive readers!

Read in one night, was bored by the wedding and kid sh**, but I liked the dialog.

Like I said on my review of "The Proposition", a second book to finish the story was totally uncalled for. That said, I think I liked this one better than the first. We got to know about Aiden's past with Amy and how that translated into his relationship with Emma and we were shown another side of Emma, that no necessarily was her best one but it fit with the plot. The ending and epilogue were incredibly sweet though.

This was soo worth the wait and to get it earlier then it was planned to be released is so awesome in itself . Katie you did an AMAZING JOB with this whole story line and Emma and Aidan will always hold a spot in my heart with their amazing story .

I was so wrapped up in this book I missed everyone else's posts and etc while they were reading it as well . I hope everyone enjoys it as much as the rest of us have . It truly is an awesome read worth way more then 5 stars .

If you have not read The Proposition yet , YOU MUST READ IT BEFORE THIS ONE !!!!

This book picked right up where the Proposition left off which was awesome , it was like we never even had a break in the story line .

Emma , as Much as I loved her and felt heartache for her in Proposition In The Proposal I was ready to bitch slap her up until about 70% through . I mean come on Aidan was doing everything in his power to get her forgiveness and showing her how much she meant to him and how much he loved her and she was being a cold heartless Bitch it seemed . I understand what he did was unforgivable but damn he worked hard for her forgiveness and I think he should of had it sooner then he did . Her and her whole spending time with Pesh I was screaming at her asking her what the hell she was doing ... But In the end I can see how it was needed for her to finally see that what she needed and wanted all along was Aidan , and Pesh helped her to realize that ...

Aidan , he had me hating him at the end of Proposition , and man I really did hate him , But I knew That Katie would redeem him with the Proposal and By Damn she did one hell of a Job with it. He was so sorry for what he had done . He stepped right up to do anything and everything he could to win back the love of his life , and he proved without a shadow of a doubt that what he wanted was nothing more then to have Emma and Noah in his life forever . He definitely will be one of my Favorite book Men from this point forward .

"I want to be with you, Em. I want to be with you every fucking moment of every fucking day.”

I loved this story and while I am sad to see it go , I see from reading other reviews and etc. that we will not be done with Them , It looks like we will be getting a Book With Pesh ( who becomes Noah's God father ) After all he did for them in the end when his help was needed most . ( don't want to ruin it for you all so will not say what he did ) . I am excited to see where Katie Goes with Pesh and can not wait to find out .

ok let me also say that I absolutely LOVED Casey choices of words in this book . I will forever remember Twatwaffle and Douchenozzle and laugh when I use then myself in the future , and Asshat which has been a favorite in my vocabulary for a long time .

This quote is included because through the whole book , this is my absolute favorite one ...

"hey Em, we could put you and Aidan on Skype If you'd like ?" Connor suggested .
" I do not want my Vagina Skyping ! I just want Aidan Here, okay ?"

If you read the first book "The Proposition" then you Must read this one how could you
not want to find out how it ends for Aidan & Emma?
I know what Aidan did was bad, very very bad but Emma wouldn't give him an inch when he was bending over backwards trying to show her he has changed and wanted to make things right. What Emma was doing with Pesh down right pissed me off I wanted to punch her in the face. Lucky for her all worked out in her favor and what happened with him finally opened her eyes.
I felted at times Emma was bit of a prude and a hypocrite. I actually Loved Aidan and even more when he was swearing. The thing I loved the most was the words that Casey came up for Aidan!
I wasn't overly in thrilled with the book over all but in no way was I ever at a point of saying that I didn't want to finish it (I'm not a quitter you see :) ). It was rather predictable but you almost have to read it to have closure from the first book.

    Quotes:

"Come on. Let's go inside before you can be more of a twatwaffle tonight."

"Speaking of, where is the douchecanoe this morning?"

"You're smooth, Big Papa. Very, very smooth."

"It's the love that goes through the hardest trails and survives that is worth having."

    Time to review this baby!!

A little summary: We pick up a few weeks after Aiden's cheating on Emma and she has not forgiven him. Emma is still in touch with everyone in Aiden's life. His dad suffers from a heart attack while with Emma, and she's forced to contact Aiden. When Aiden gets to the hospital he learns that Emma has an admirer in the form of a handsome ER doctor, Pesh Nadeen.

Trying to get over Aiden (or trying to convince herself she can), Emma flirts back. Later that day she herself is admitted to the hospital for having contractions and is put on bed rest. Aiden being the only one able to care for her during the next few weeks, she moves in with him. Trying his best to show her how much he loves her, cares for her and wants her forgiveness, Aiden gets his own slap in the face when Emma agrees to go out with Pesh.

For fear of spoiling more of the story, I'm stopping the summary at this point, but things only get better from here. Trust.

I enjoyed this book a lot, more than The Proposition. Everything, including the angst, was a lot more balanced. There was a good amount of humor in it, too. And the swoons... Aiden sure makes up for being a man whore. And when the baby is born and we got a glimpse of daddy Aiden (can we call him Daiden?) my heart did a few flips.

Well written, sweet, angsty, romantic, sassy and sexy - this one has it all.
