About this audiobook

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and It Ends with Us, Colleen Hoover’s bestselling Slammed series comes to its gripping conclusion. There are two sides to every love story. Now hear Will’s.

Layken and Will’s love has managed to withstand the toughest of circumstances, and the young lovers, now married, are beginning to feel safe and secure in their union. As much as Layken relishes their new life together, she finds herself wanting to know everything there is to know about her husband, even though Will makes it clear he prefers to keep the painful memories of the past where they belong.

Still, he can’t resist his wife’s pleas, and so he begins to untangle his side of the story, revealing for the first time his most intimate feelings and thoughts, retelling both the good and bad moments, and sharing a few shocking confessions of his own from the time when they first met.

In This Girl, Will tells the story of their complicated relationship from his point of view. Their future rests on how well they deal with the past in this final installment of the beloved Slammed series.

AUDIOBOOK VERSION - couldn’t even finish it. The voice they picked for this 3RD BOOK IN A SERIES was completely different from the other two books. Completely changed the whole character for me and not in a good way. And he gave the female character a weird accent. Ruined the book for me.

So sad! I absolutely love Colleen Hoovers books but this one was a repeat of book one in the series like word for word! The narrator ruined it for me. I wish she would have used the same narrator that she did in book 2.

The narration was terrible. I wish I was the same narrator as book 2. His "southern accent" was not that of a true Texan and his yelling and acting of other characters was annoying to me.

The story was a lot of the same as Slammed. Not just his point of view, but also a lot of the same dialog I didn't care to reread. I didn't care much about this book. I only finished because it was the final of the series.

The book was OK and enjoyable overall.
However, I really didn't like how the audiobook was narrated.

Definitely was not happy with the reader of this book, cause When you go from previous book to this one, it totally changes the personalities of the characters. Nothing against the readers voice. It just didn’t flow but the book was great as always.

This review is not for Colleen Hoover. I love her books. Im listening to these books back to back and the narrators voice is very different from the narrators of Slammed and Point of Retreat. This guy has a country accent which I can seem to get used to… I think I would have been fine If he read the other books too but he didn’t. One downfall of audiobooks.

The book is great. The narration is awful in this book.

This was basically a recap of the previous book, only from Will’s point of view. The narrator killed the book for me. Fake southern accents, so bad. Definitely didn’t picture a 21-year-old boy listening to the older narrator’s voice drone on. Love Colleen Hoover but this one was a definite flop in my opinion.

Narration ruined it for me. She doesn’t need to sound like Scarlet OHara

Slammed and point of retreat were awesome. This one had some great moments that added insight to Will’s POV but was basically a reread of slammed. I also wasn’t a fan of the audiobook reader when he did Lake’s voice and I had a hard time getting passed the fake southern accent.

I agree with the rest of the reviewers on this. After falling in love with these characters, I was excited to read the 3rd book. Disappointed to have it be the first book all over again. Thought I could just get through it but it was a different reader and I struggled a bit to place my same characters into the scenes. Definitely read this one though. Read the first chapter and maybe the second but then skip to the end. Read the last 1-2 chapters and the epilogue. You’ll be happy you did.

Love the first two narrators in this series. Why the change? It felt like different characters. I'll just read this last one.

I’m a Colleen Hoover fan but this book was a big disappointment. Definitely not her best work. I liked Slammed and Point of Retreat. But this 3rd book of the series almost ruined those for me.

Both of the main characters went from being mature for their ages in the first two books to regressing emotionally to the point that I literally rolled my eyes in some parts. It was almost painful to finish.

I listened to the three books. In the first two books, Layken doesn’t have an accent, which is fine. I know plenty of Texans who don’t have accents. But the narrator in this book gave her a Texas accent, which was so distracting. Did he not listen to the first two books to make the character portrayal seamless?

Obviously, I’m not a fan of this book. If you’re considering the series, just stop after the second book. You won’t miss anything.

This book is a recap of what happened in the first two books just in Will’s perspective. Also with the different narrator that has a southern draw threw things off for me.

Changing the narrators in the 3rd book of a series is gut wrenching. Part of the love in an audiobook is growing an attachment to the voices of the characters as they develop. Tragic mistake by Colleen on this choice.

Because I loved the story and fell in love with the characters I still enjoyed the book.

This is the perfect continuation of Will and Lake’s story! I enjoyed reading Will’s POV.

I liked some of the details that the other books were missing, and that it was from Will‘s perspective. It was a lot of the same story from Slammed. It was still worth the read, but be prepared for the repetition.

I just started this book, I’m not going to be able to finish it. Will’s voice (the narrator) is a different person in this book, which makes it so hard to listen to, plus his voice and accent for Lake is so weird. It’s just all off.

It was interesting to hear the story from Will’s perspective. Although the epilogue was AMAZING, it would have been nice to get a little information about Eddie & Gavin too. Major dislike about this book- the narrator’s voice and fake over dramatic Southern accent. Very annoying & distracting.

I enjoyed first two books but didn't understand the point of this book. This book easy could be a part of the first book and would be amazing but as a separate book?? It's like it's was written for sake of being written.
If you enjoyed the first two books don't waste your time on this one, it's literally the first book just from Wills point of view.
