About this audiobook

Delaine Talbot has a secret. When a matter of life and death threatens to tear apart her family, Delaine makes the ultimate sacrifice. She auctions herself off at Chicago's most exclusive erotic club. Now she belongs to Noah Crawford, a wealthy mogul who introduces her to a seductive feast of the senses, awakening desires she only dreamed about.

Noah doesn't know why Delaine sold her body for a cool two mil. But it's the perfect business arrangement. The inexperienced beauty will learn to satisfy his every sensual need, yet never touch his heart. Almost immediately their relationship generates heat-in more ways than one. When they fight, they take no prisoners. When they love, they show no mercy. When they're together, they never want to leave each other's arms. But soon, their intense, physical bond will take an unexpected turn-evolving into something neither has bargained for: the promise of a lasting love.

While kind of sexy, it is irritating to me that there always has to be some hugely extenuating circumstance to allow a woman to free her sexuality. That being said, fun little romp of a book. Horrible circumstance, virgin woman sells herself to highest bidder for two years (of course he is fabulously wealthy and handsome and damaged), woman and man fall in love, it will never work, he tells her to leave (because he doesn't want to hurt her)......And nothing, that's it. That's where this book leaves it. I realize that there is a second book in the series, but I don't think I care enough to read it.

I received an ARC from the publisher of A Million Dirty Secrets through the LibraryThing Early Reviewers program in exchange for an honest review. Here's yet another book that was previously Twilight fanfiction. This is perhaps the worst in that group that I have read so far. The book is marketed as being a cross between Pretty Woman and Fifty Shades of Gray, but it isn't. If it were, it might be somewhat more tolerable. Instead it just feels like something you should take a shower after even looking at. I don't understand why any publishing house would want to put their names on something this awful. Parts of it are extremely offensive. The whole story doesn't even seem good enough to make it a popular piece of fanfiction. The idea is interesting: a woman in desperate need of money selling herself into sexual slavery and being purchased for $2 million by a man with commitment issues. Unfortunately, it wasn't interesting enough to help my feelings about this book. In fact, the idea itself kind of bugged me. The auction scene reminded me of a similar scene in Taken. Then there's a mention of a vampire show that they're watching, and I'm pretty sure that they're talking about True Blood because the scene sounds like one from it. With the book already being based on another person's work, the ripping off of even more entities just became too much for me at certain points. The characters were extremely immature, especially Lanie. From her actions to the narrative voice of her chapters, she comes across as about 13 years old--at the oldest. The good part is that Noah is slightly more mature. Unfortunately, neither character seems to be adult enough to be in any sort of relationship. I guess that makes sense since technically they aren't in a true dating relationship, but even if you think of it as a business relationship or a sex slave/master relationship, their attitudes still come off as childish. The interactions between Lanie and Noah seemed forced, as does their growing "love" for one another. It is hard for me to believe that Lanie is so close to her parents, yet she seems to lack the ability or desire to talk to them. She could at least call them from time to time, especially if her mom is as sick as she is described as being. Maybe it's just me, but if my mom was that sick, then I would want to stay in contact with her. She wouldn't have to tell her mom about her being a sex slave, but it seems like if her mom was in such a precarious health situation that maybe she might feel a little like she needed to check up on her.It is an easy read, if you can get past the offensive nature, the constant slut-shaming, the childish behaviors, and the feeling like so many people are being ripped off, including the readers. I wanted to quit reading it several times, but I just couldn't. Why? Because the awful nature of the book makes it intriguing. It's kind of like watching bad science fiction movies just so that you can laugh at how bad they are. And as bad as this book is, I'm actually interested in reading its sequel. I don't expect it to be better. In fact, I expect it to get worse, but the train wreck that is this novel is just so fascinating. I won't buy it because I don't want to waste money on a book that I know will suck.

I received an ARC from the publisher through LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review.I am only about 20% through this but so far I am really disappointed and I am not sure I will finish this. The story line had promise - 24 year old virgin Delanie sells herself to the highest bidder as a sex slave in order to pay for her dying mother's surgery. Hot billionaire Noah buys her 2 year contract for $2 million. So alpha bad boy billionaire and the sweet innocent girl that needs to be saved. This is another book that started as Twilight FanFic. I have read quite a few FanFic books and some really good ones that have never made it to publication that should have. This is one that probably should have been left on the web.So far the characters are flat and unbelievable. Lanie is a 24 year old virgin that has an oversexed best friend that works in a club called Foreplay run by a man who really makes his money auctioning off sex slaves. But Lanie seems to fluctuate between a shy, unexposed virgin and a trash talking slut. She has never had an orgasm before Noah (apparently she is so virginal she has never even masturbated). She has actually practiced giving a blow job to a banana with her oversexed friend but hasn't the first idea what to do when asked to give one. And the way she talks (or thinks to herself)! Maybe she is really 14 and not 24. "I poured the moo juice over the cocoa yumminess""Double Agent Coochie""Wonder Peen""You're taking my kitty to the vet?" (when he scheduled a dr appointment for her)Noah is supposed to be the rich alpha male that buys a virgin but so far he is pretty limp.I am really not sure I want to go on with this book (and I RARELY give up on a book). It may end up on my Could Not Finish shelf.

I'm reading A Million Dirty Secrets: This book is steamy sexy, slightly demeaning, and definitely exciting but I couldn't finish it, something about it just rubbed me completely the wrong way

I was also a firstreads winner.

I received this book through Early Readers and it started out good but fizzeled and lost my attention part way through it. I think the story line is really good but just wasn't feeling the connection to a book that I like.

At first I wasn't 100% sure how the book would turn out, but once I started reading a just couldn't put it down! C.L. Parker did an absolutely phenomenal job in creating a romantic, hot and steamy page turner. Her creative use of words and puns kept me laughing throughout the book, and who can't resist the beautiful multibillionaire Noah Crawford she created. I found "A Million Dirty Secrets" to be a great fun read after going through nonstop boring ones for school; it was nice to take a break. I can't wait to read the second one!

I have put off reviewing this book for a few weeks. I am in-between liking and disliking this read. I enjoyed the storyline, the characters, the drama, the sex...I extremely disliked the verbiage, the incessant overuse of cutesy terms for body parts and such. At first it was kind of funny then it was like being hit over the head over and over again...I did finish the book, but I was glad it was over. I gave this book three stars because the writer had an easy style and I liked her characters.

This was a refreshing erotic love story. It is a cross between 50 shades and Bared to you, but it is a story that can stand alone. Delaine and Noah are great charactors. Noah is the stereo typical bad boy rich kid. Underneath that he has a heart that was deeply hurt by his past. Delaine is a virgin who sells herself to save her family. I really liked Laine, she was a no a pity me type charactor She was very strong willed and sassy.I enjoyed the one liners and banter the two had.I was dissapointed it ended, but look forward to next one. This is a steamy story that leaves you wanting more

*Our Review, by LITERAL ADDICTION's Pack Alpha - Michelle L. Olson:*eARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest reviewSince the blurb markets the book for fans of Fifty Shades of Gray and Bared to You, I feel like I need to start my review with a confession... I absolutely hated Fifty Shades, and I didn't finish Bared to You because I just couldn't get into it. Being a fan of horror, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, paranormal erotica, & some romantic suspense, I simply figured that straight erotic romance just wasn't my thing. With that all said, I'm not sure how useful my input will be, but I'll tell you what I thought and let you go from there...Some of you may know from reading other reviews and things that this started out several years ago as Twilight FanFic. What I want to say first off is to forget that you ever heard that. This is simply a steamy erotic romance that happens to be on the same highway as Fifty Shades and the others who have followed in its wake, but it's its own beautiful creature and should be viewed and judged as such. The concept is a familiar one - twenty-something virgin hooks up with hot billionaire business tycoon for hot sex. What it has in addition, however, is a moving baseline story for our heroine which makes her decision to enter into the contract entirely selfless and moving, and a catalyst for our hero that makes you want nothing more than for him to find his zen and mend is previously shattered heart. What really set the book apart were the characters and they're growth, both individually and toward one another - Noah starts out as a class A Alpha-hole (albeit a super sexy one), and independent, determined Lanie goes a little bit crazy mid book, but despite it all, their chemistry is page melting, and their dialogue is laugh-out-loud funny at times.Having read & loved C.L's Paranormal series, hosted her several times on the website, and talked with her for years online, I know her personality, and it shines through like a beacon in this book in the best of ways! Her wit, snark, and absolute abandonment, compiled with her evident lust for life (and lust in general. Hee hee) make for some fabulous reading material, and a lightness in a book that could easily get much too heavy with the amount of sex and drama. And the nicknames... Yeah, gotta love it! :) Life's too short to be so damn serious, right!?Now here's where I'm not much help... The eroticism was smokin' and there was plenty of it, but because I don't read these kind of books I'm not sure if it was enough, just right, or over the top. I felt it fit (from what I know of what fans of the genre look for) and even though I personally skimmed some parts (yeah, I get a little shy...), it was wicked sexy and fun at the same time. This is book #1 of a Duet, so it does end on a pretty big cliff hanger, but the next book will be out before we know it. :)In short, would I recommend A Million Dirty Secrets to erotic romance lovers who started out as fans of Fifty Shades, Bared to You, Wallbanger, etc? Absolutely!

I wish I could give this negative stars. I read it when it was fan fiction and I can assure you a sloppy edit didn't help it in the least.

It is poorly written, with laughably horrible dialogue and on top of all that it glamorizes sex trafficking.

Nothing says exploitation quite like taking the real life horrors of marginalize women and making it the backdrop for your erotic romance.

Please DO NOT waste your time and money on this piece of trash.

Delaine "Laine" Talbot's mother is dying. Her father has been taking care of her and has used all his sick time at work and then some. He was let go when his employer got tired of trying to cover for him. Now, he not only had no income, but no insurance as well. Laine had been a straight 'A' student in school, but college was out of the question as her parents really needed the financial help and were definitely not in a position to pay for her classes. Laine had a friend, Dez, with connections and soon Laine had agreed to auction herself off to the highest bidder so that she could help pay for her mother's heart transplant. She was so nervous when the big day came. There were about 6 men willing to bid on her, a virgin who was willing to be their 'sex slave for a period of 2 years. When the bidding was done she learned that she had been bought for $2 million dollars. More than enough to help her parents. Noah Crawford, a multi-millionaire businessman was her new 'employer'. He was tall, dark, and very handsome. After a bit of a learning curve on Laine's part their life became very active and very erotic. There are bumps along the road that make the story one that is very hard to put down. I loved the characters and the author's style. The story line is great as are the supporting characters. Its a story that is easy to read and very hard to put down. My only disappointment was the cliffhanger ending. The conclusion is in the next book, 'A Million Guilty Pleasures' due out Fall of 2013 (very soon!!). ***This is a Library Thing win!

This story took a minute to draw me in, but once it did, I ended up reading it in one sitting because it wouldn't let me go! I really enjoyed how the characters are with each other and feel they make a really good match. They are both so mouthy, both so stubborn and both so inexplicably drawn to each other that I found myself grinning like the Cheshire Cat through 90% of the book. The only downside... it does leave off on a bit of a cliffhanger. Which of course made me run straight to NetGalley to see if the second book was there yet. Sadly it's not so I am going to have to wait. But make no mistake, I will be reading book 2 and seriously hope C.L. makes it as amazing as this on was! I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.

**Warning-This is not a complete novel, just the first installment, wish I had known.** So much potential, but it fizzled about 3 chapters in. The blurb and preview was just good enough for me choose to use my 1 audio credit for the month, then ... disappointment. Noah is not an alpha male. I could write a longer review, but that's about it - he's no alpha. It could have been so hot if Noah took charge! The female narrator had 1, maybe 2, good voices, but she couldn't fake a male voice at all.

Not a fan of Delaine's voice. I always imagine the character's persona based on how they sound and can't help picturing her as an immature girl not fitting for Noah's masculine voice. Overall however I enjoyed the storyline and humor of characters.

Thanks to Bantam Books for a free advanced copy.A different take from the 50 shades bandwagon. I struggled with this book in the beginning because this handsome millionaire/business tycoon was ridiculously immature. I mean, really, how many men in his position would refer to his coworkers as “fucktards”. Of course, he’s screwed up emotionally and comes off as cold hearted; therefore, he buys Delaine for two million dollars so he can have sex without love or that pesky commitment. I knew from page one how that was going to end. It was getting there that worried me. Delaine sells herself for a noble reason but she is also horribly immature in the beginning. She uses terms like “twat doc”, “coochie” and my personal favorite “wonder peen”. As the story progressed and they wised up to one another and all that silliness washed away. It actually became a good love story. I really hated the cliffhanger because I don't want to read the second book.

3.5/4 Stars - Ultra SteamyWith lightning speed, A Million Dirty Secrets gets down and fantastically dirty. Mere moments after being purchased by the remarkably gorgeous and imposing Noah Crawford, Delaine is put to work on her first lesson in pleasure.Delaine’s following days and nights are brimming with a sensual overload of luscious erotic experiences and deep fantasies fulfilled with unbridled fervor by the masterful and insatiable Noah. The lovers soon discover sexually liberated Delaine is a devilishly ravenous and wanton woman. Much to his delight, Noah’s unparalleled talents are met stroke for eager stroke by his challenging and blindingly beautiful bought goddess. With each encounter this couple’s carnal appetite for one another compounds and combusts. Their fights are intense, their make-up sex even more so. And, despite their turbulent relationship, a deeper affection and connection develops. At first, I found the books’s premise and Noah and Delaine’s arrangement improbable and seedy. But, swiftly the couple grew on me. It’s hard not to fall in lust with Noah. He’s a true stallion. It is tougher however to fall in love with Delaine. Her character is incessantly musing adolescent observations and cringe-worthy descriptions. There are far too many “Wonder Peen” references and excessive bodily fluids revelations. She thankfully softens, as does Noah, when feelings beyond desire emerge. Halfway through the story I didn’t mind her so much and even began to like her. It probably helped that her strong personality amused Noah. By the end of the book I was highly invested and interested in their having a future together. If you are looking for a seriously spicy book to read, this is it. A Million Dirty Secrets gets hotter and hotter with each page turn. Their frenzied carnal feast is highly satisfying. I’m excited to continue Delaine and Noah’s stormy love story with the second book in the series: A Million Guilty Pleasures.

A Million Dirty Secrets: Million Dollar Duet by C.L. Parker was a big disappointment, and I was so looking forward to reading it. The premise of the book grabbed me right away. Delaine Talbot, Lanie to her friends, sells herself for two million dollars to Noah Crawford for two years as his sex slave. Lanie’s mother’s health is failing, it is life or death situation and her mom needs a heart transplant. Lanie can’t think of another way to get the money they need for her mothers care. Lanie doesn’t let her parents know what she is doing or where the money is coming from but she can’t think of any other way to help her parents, her virginity is all she has to sell. Lanie’s motive was powerful and Noah’s reason for buying her is something that will pull at you as well but that is where the good stuff ends and the writing gets in the way.C.L. Parker had a great idea but her use or should I say over use of sophomoric terms for body parts or actions made me feel as if a teenager had written the story and one with a limited, corse vocabulary at that. The story develops in such a way that for every step forward towards improving what you are reading occurs, there are way too many crass comments that set you back again.Hearing the story from both Lanie and Noah’s points of view was also a powerful way to try to tell the story but the lack of intelligent dialogue leaves you feeling as if it is a flat experience. The final straw for me was leaving the reader hanging with no resolution to the story without reading the sequel, A Million Guilty Pleasures: Million Dollar Duet which comes out in February of 2014. Based on what I read, I am not sure I care to hear the resolution of the story.
