About this audiobook

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Secret of Ella and Micha comes a new story of hope, heartbreak, and the power of young love.

THE FOREVER OF ELLA AND MICHA

Ella is back at school, trying to focus on her future and forget the darkness of her past. Still, her ongoing family drama is making it harder and harder to get through the days. All she really wants is Micha, but no way will she let her problems get in the way of his dreams.

Micha is busy touring the country with his band, seemingly getting everything he's ever wanted. But deep down he knows something is missing. Being away from Ella is harder than he expected. And while he longs to have her with him, he won't ask her to leave college just to be at his side.

When Ella and Micha are together, anything seems possible . . . but lately those shared moments aren't so easy to find. When a new tragedy shakes their already fragile world, one of them will make a dramatic choice that could break them apart forever . . .

I really love this book, it was a sweet and spicy read. It took me just over seven hours to read it; it was so good I couldn't put it down. The Secret of Ella and Micha is about two childhood best friends and next door neighbors journey to finding hope and each other. They both have a lot of baggage stemming from their not so perfect families.

Ella runs away and does a complete 360 on her personality in hopes of controlling her destiny of not becoming her mother. Ella believes that she is destined to be like her mother and thinks that if she is good then bad things won't happen to her. Even though she knows she can't control everything she stills tries her hardest to. She stops living life and became someone her family and friends don't recognize.

I love Micha's character, (swoon) he internally deals with his father walking out on him and his mother when he was six. He is head over heels in love with Ella and pines for her when she disappears without a goodbye.

When Ella returns home for summer vacation she tries to deny her feelings for Micha a continues to push him away, she doesn't want to lose her best friend but most of all she's afraid. Micha has girls throwing themselves at him but he doesn't understand why the one girl he want's keeps pushing him away. It was fun to see how Micha found his way through the barriers that Ella put up to keep him away.

The writing was perfect, I would say the characters in this book are probably between the age of 18-20 so the dialogue was very appropriate and real. The content is definitely more geared toward older teenagers. The story flowed very well between Ella and Micha's point of views. I really love this book, the characters weren't perfect but their flaws helped to weave a meaningful story. Very well fleshed out characters for sure.

I was luck enough to previously be able to review a book by Sheila Roberts. I ended up really enjoying it, so I was so excited to get the chance to review the start of a new series. I immediately jumped in to Moon Light Harbor.I love Jessica Sorenson. I have had this series on my shelves forever, but I have been hesitant to start it. I am not really sure why, as I know I have enjoyed everything I pick up from the author. I decided I had to at least start the first book and then I would decide if I wanted to binge read the rest of the series. This was good. It did not blow me away like some of her previous work I read. It was pretty predictable at times. I also wanted to the emotional parts to pull more at my heart strings than this did. Overall, it was still a solid read.

I thought this book was alot of fun to read. It's not something I normally read, although I just couldn't tell you why exactly, and this book spoke to me so it made it so easy and fun to finish. Ella and Micha's relationship is complicated but true and I was very glad to follow them in their journey of self-discovery and love.

I am not sure.... I liked this book. I most definitely will read the next one. Maybe I have read too many of these love stories to fully appreciate them. This just didn't hit me like others have in the past. I get that both of them have had a rough road in life, but I just couldn't feel their emotions. It really is good, just isn't what I was expecting being I have really really enjoyed Jessica's books in the past.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I thought it was a sweet romance with complicated characters which make a book interesting but I just thought it was too dragged out for a 2nd book. Usually I look forward to a series but I was a little bored in this one. It needed some sexy hot scenes in it. I really think the characters lacked chemistry and sizzle. This book may be enjoyed by a younger audience. Overall I would recommend to younger audience who love Contemporary Romance. I'm not giving up yet I'm going to read the 2nd book to see how Micha and Ella story ends.

I want to start out by saying I have a huge crush on Jessica Sorensen. She is one of the most brilliant authors ever! This book was recommended to me by my best friend and from the moment I picked it up, I was in love!

***Possible spoilers because it's too brilliant not to spoil***

Ella Mae Daniels is a truly beautiful broken girl. Growing up, Ella did not live the average normal life. With a sick mother, a drunken father, and a brother who blamed her for all their problems.

"...Don't ever do that to me again. I can't do this without you..."

Ella had one bright spot growing up, her next door neighbor and best friend, Micha Scott. Everything they did, they did together. They went from friends, to best friends, to Ella falling desperately in love with her best friend.

"...He is my best friend, my soulmate. In a perfect world, full of roses and sunshine we'd be together, but this world is full of broken homes, drunken fathers, and mothers who give up easily..."

Ella was a wild child, a dark party girl who loved a rush and speed. Micha taught her all about cars and street racing. Racing was a release from the daily routine and broken homes. Until life turned tragic and a broken girl shattered. Instead of facing everything Ella buries it deep and walks away from her life.

"...Then I walk away, leaving him on the bridge in the rain, along with the old Ella..."

Eight months later, Ella is forced to return home for the summer. With her new friend and roommate Lila driving, Ella is about to return to Star Grove for the first time since walking away from Micha and her life. But what they don't know is the Ella coming home is a completely different girl. She is now Miss Pretty, Prim, and Proper. She is now what she use to not like, at all.

"...There were no secrets with me. But now secrets define me..."

Not even minutes back home and Ella comes face to face with her childhood best friend and secret love, Micha. Right then and there Ella learns quickly that she can paint on a smile and wear pretty clothes but the mask did nothing to mask her feelings for this beautiful boy with aqua eyes.

"...it's what's buried deep inside that frightens me because it's broken, like a shattered mirror..."

Micha was not only surprised when Ella walks back into his life out of the clear blue, but he was also surprised by the Ella that returns. The Ella he knew that lived to break rules, speak her mind , and loved an adrenaline rush and taking risks seemed to be buried deep down under This sweet nice girl facade.

"...It was one of the many things that made me fall in love with her; the fire, passion, and the need to stick up for the outcasts, even if it meant being an outcast herself. She never fell into any category - she was just Ella..."

Ella is determined to keep the broken girl buried. Micha is determined to bring his Ella back. Can Micha help Ella face the past and come to terms with It and who she is? Will their love finally blossom? What will the future hold for these two beautifully broken souls?

"...They'll never really know what it took to get here. How many years were invested, but that's okay. It's a secret between us..."

The Secret of Ella and Micha is one of my top five favorite books ever! I became an instant fangirl of Jessica Sorensen since I picked the book up! Ella is such a beautiful and fascinating character. Micha is just delicious and together they just make you fall in love with love. This book gave me flashbacks to my own childhood. It made me laugh and cry. There are not enough words to describe how brilliant this book is! And it has a killer playlist to go along with it. Please go get this book and become introduced and fall in love with Ella and Micha. You will not regret it. Now let me give this book a Nerd Alert A or 5 deeply loved stars so I can go start the next book!!

Pretty good book with a convincing story. I really liked the characters and I thought their problems were palpable ones and not some silly stuff you may come across in other books. Ella and Micha have made their place and I can't wait to figure out how this story ends.

I thought that the book was good I think that Ella is a very strong character and that Micah is just absolutely gorgeous inside and out I love how they are trying to make love prevail and how they seem to be very good for one another even though they have been apart for eight months.

Well after the first few chapters I wanted to slap Ella upside her head! She up and leaves Micha then comes back with a bit of an attitude towards him seeing how it was her hang up's that sent her running. Their story really had my heart racing I felt like I was right there with them. Just when I thought things were going to totally work out for them they both get offers they can't refuse but thankfully they seemed to work it out but we know it's not that easy!
    That's where it ends! Arggghhhhh!!!!!
No raunchy sex scenes with details very vague but still very HOT!

The Secret of Ella and Micha has me on the fence. One minute when I think about it I like it, the next minute, I think the story is just so-so. It's a gritty story, these kids are struggling to say the least. Not just with teenage issues, but life hasn't dealt them the best of cards. The book didn't blow me away, but it held my interest long enough to finish it. I didn't fully invest myself with Ella and Micha's characters. I think the story was too full of teenage angst for my taste. I was just observing as I read, curious as to what would happen next. The book mostly centers around Ella returning to her home town for school break with her college roommate and hanging out with her old friends. The story itself is well written and flows smoothly. You get the POV's from both Ella and Micha. The supporting characters are interesting and help add to the story. Although this can be labeled as a YA Contemporary Romance, I wouldn't recommend it for teens younger than 17 due to the sex in the plot. The romance between Ella and Micha was sweet, but during one part of the book something Micha did didn't make sense to me and seemed out of character. I had to go back and re-read to make sure I got it correctly. I did like that their romance blossoms slowly over time. It's not a 'wham bam thank you mam' type of thing. They talk about the past so as you read you get a feel that these two have a strong bond, being best friends most of all.Micha is pretty much Ella's angsty knight in shining armor. I like these lines:He takes a deep breath and lets it out gradually. "I love you, Ella May and nothing will ever change that. You can push me away-run away-and I will still love you."p.136Ella is likable, she's got alot of internal conflict going on and as the story flows we get to see her mature a bit and face her fears. This is the first in a series and The Forever of Ella and Micha (The Secret, # 2) is due out soon. I won't be reading that one though. I feel like this story wrapped up pretty well. If you're into borderline YA Contemporary Romance featuring a guitar playing, drag racing hero with a lip ring and a troubled heroine, look no further :)I purchased my copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion. I did not receive any type of compensation for reading and reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers and authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review.
