He is everything I crave, all I desperately want-and he is everything I can't have.

Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets.

My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan's dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can't fight.

I don't normally read erotic romance but I really enjoyed this book. There was more plot than sex and the characters had real personalities and real "issues" to deal with which kept the story interesting.

I wanted to like this book, but I just could not get into to it. The beginning was okay. I did fall for Evan Black, but Angelina was not my favorite. I liked when they started to rekindle their flame, but the back and forth drove me nuts.
I thought with time this book would suck me in...

Unfortunately when a girl is a thief, I check out.

Not to mention there were multiple times where they got in bed with each other and Evan took care of her, then pushed her away. That to mean is not a man's behavior, especially bad boy Evan.

Around the middle I shut the book and did not finish.

Like I said I wish I would have liked this one... but it didn't work for me.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book was one of a small number of erotica books I've read lately that actually had an interesting story line to it.Angie Raine, a young woman who is still suffering from guilt and grief after a tragedy that occurred while she was still a teenager, is now grieving the loss of her beloved uncle. Angie is also lusting (and has been for eight years) after one of her uncle's protegees Evan Black, a mysterious enigmatic figure with secrets of his own.Given Angie's family background and upbringing, she could have remained a spoiled rich girl who doesn't own up to her actions and behavior, but she turns her life around after the death of her older sister, an event that Angie feels responsible for. Although she maintains control of her life, the one thing that could be her undoing is Evan Black, a mysterious, enigmatic man she's secretly lusted after for the last eight years.Angie and Evan are brought together after the sudden, untimely death of Angie's beloved uncle. Although Evan made a promise to Angie's uncle, he admits there is a connection between himself and Angie, but does everything he can to uphold his promise. Evan knows that his past could also be a downfall to any possible future with Angie and doesn't want to be the one to taint her chance at happiness. Evan and his two best friends Cole and Tyler are young, successful businessmen with their fingers in a lot of pies. However, they find themselves on the radar of the FBI, and one agent in particular, for possible nefarious activities. Despite his attempts to not get involved with Angie, he finally succumbs to his desires, and what starts out as just a sexual relationship soon develops into something more. But is he doing because he truly desires Angie, or does he have another agenda? We learn kind of early in the book exactly what happened to Angie's sister, but we don't learn all of Evan's secrets until close to the end of the book, which by that time it began to feel rushed through. I think it would have been better to learn his secrets a bit earlier in the story, and that would have been enough time to deal with the fallout that happened after the FBI visits Angie. Something else that felt rushed was the whole bait-and-switch episode, it worked out way too easily and there really wasn't any tension buildup from it. The ending definitely felt rushed, but it was still a good book and I can't wait to read the next two books in the series.

    You'll want Wanted!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley, having requested to read it for a review.

This is my first J Kenner book and she did not disappoint. I am looking forward to reading Heated and Ignited when they are released later this spring/summer.

As excellent "reveal" of the heroine and Hero. Great development of characters and past history and connections though her uncle. The only disconnect I had with the story is how easy the swapping of artifacts was -- for such a "dangerous" mission, all went too smoothly in two pages, whereas the author developed other elements of the plot and characters with more care.

This book was middle of the road for me. The book was easily readable. But the bits of mystery were heavy handed and easy to guess. An it is of course one of those books where if they would just tell each other the truth.... well you wouldn't have a book anymore.

Intrigue, secrets, pain and grief, second chances, smoldering desire, unleashed hot and steamy passion, all wrapped up into J.Kenner's first book in her new erotic series, Wanted.

This is my first read of a J. Kenner book and I enjoyed it. The story captured my attention and kept me intrigued right the way through, while still leaving some questions unanswered that I assume will be resolved in the following books. I liked the fact that we gained a lot of knowledge about the history of the characters as we saw their current day story unfold, without distracting from it. Their story was unique and presented some different storylines which held my attention.

As for the characters, Angelina and Evan, I felt it just missed the mark in allowing me to have a total connection with them. I would have liked more insight into Evan's present day activities so I could have connected with him more. He seemed a sort of enigma that we never really got to know as well as I think we should have. As for Angelina, I related to some things and not with others. I just wanted to feel what she was feeling and understand why she was so crippled by her demons but I didn't feel that all the time.

I did however, enjoy their second chance at love and I felt the tension between the two prior to, and when they came together. The love scenes were raw and steamy, showing us the emotion that they felt for each other.

I really loved that this book had no cliffhanger. It had a tidy ending but left us with enough questions and curiosity for the next two books in the series.

Do you remember your first love? You know, the one where you could not breathe, or walk, or talk every time you were in the same room? Remember how you knew it would be impossible for him to reciprocate your feelings because he was older? What would happen if that love didn't just fade away? This is the foundation for this book. A first love kept secret through the years. Each encounter just as swoon worthy as the last. One problem, our heroine Angie has made a promise to never make it real. How can you handle these feelings knowing you can never act on them?

Angie has barely survived losing her sister. Her uncle Jahn has been like a second father to her. She loves her parents but when she is with her uncle, she experiences a freedom and independence to be herself she is unable to attain around her parents. Of course, spending time at her uncle Jahn's also means she can see Evan. She can dream that her love for him is mutual. She can fantasize and hope that maybe someday they will be together.

Evan keeps his feelings locked away in his self-denial. He also has made a promise to Jahn not to encourage Angie. Jahn is his mentor and has provided him support he never could have imagined from a stranger. He owes Jahn and he will keep his promise. This is easier said than done. Now that Jahn has passed away, will Angie and Evan be held to the promises they made to stay away from each other?

Our story is full of excitement, thrills, and mystery, with a twist of, dare I say it, illegal endeavors. Nothing is as it seems. Angie is determined to uncover the secrets Jahn and Evan have kept from her. What ensues is a delightful, passionate, and totally entertaining story that will keep you glued to this book. In spite of all the comings and goings, Angie finally finds her true voice and comes to terms with herself.

For those of you familiar with our author, you should note this book is as erotic and fascinating as her last unbeatable effort The Stark Trilogy. Enjoy this new series!

I received this book as part of the Early ReviewersThis is my first read by J Kenner. After seeing reviews from her other books I was looking forward to this one.I was disappointed. The story seemed stagnant in the beginning, to the point I didn't want to finish (it took 3 weeks) Lina bored me and her thoughts seemed repetative throughout the book. Evan wasn't much more likeable than Angelina. The characters were not as well developed and I didn't feel the chemistry between them. Though their sex scenes were hot and well written, as was the book.Overall, I did not like the book, though I didn't hate it either.

I received this book as part of the Early Reviewers. This was a surprising gripping story about two people who had apparently known each other for years, harbored a lustful desire, and only after the tragedy of loosing someone they both loved, realized the entensity of the chemistry. The characters developed a little slow, but by the end, you have gotten to know them and look forward to knowing the supporting characters as well. The sex scenes were very well written, and not so long and drawn out that you start skimming the paragraphs!Overall a really good read. Looking forward to the next int he series!

Evan is the quintessential bad boy. Angelina is the princess daughter of a senator who likes to be wild. They have a history unfulfilled love. Along the lines of 50 Shades and the like. Characters not as developed or likeable. Plot line predictable. The book was okay, but not awesome. Sex scenes were the best part.I received a free copy of this book for my honest review.

review ** spoiler alert ** Im not really sure why Lina even likes Evan. The author talks about this great chemistry but I dont feel it. I dont see any redeeming qualities about Evan and the story line is hidden so well I cant see it. I appreciate you giving me a chance to try this but I dont want to finish this because who wants to read to the end of the book to truly understand this book or hope to anyways.

Kenner delivers a compelling and sexy tale in her new book Wanted. Wanted gives the reader an erotic tale of a woman whose life is at a crossroads as she must make the decision to stay on the path that she has chosen for herself or the path that is true to herself. Kenner does a great job with her development of the Angelina character whose uncle's death puts her at a crossroads. I liked how Kenner introduced Angelina's past throughout the book giving the reader glimpses of what drove her and at the same time slowly allowing Angelina to realize that she wasn't really living her life for herself. Add in a handsome, sexy bad boy and you got an exciting read. Evan is the one person who truly saw the real Angelina with the exception of her now deceased uncle, and I liked how Kenner slowly built the connection between Angelina and Evan. Overall Wanted was an exciting read that really captured the reader's attention and never let go. I am looking forward to reading more by this author.Received a copy of Wanted through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Angie always knew she'd wanted Evan. What she didn't know was that he'd always wanted her too, but knew he wasn't good enough for her. She was a senator's daughter, he was the bad boy with a lifetime of secrets he could never tell her. Angie's uncle took Evan and his two best friends under his wing and treated them like his sons. Angie loved her visits to her uncle, knowing Evan and his friends would be there a lot. Her fantasies had only escalated with time, always starring Evan, but he was the boy her uncle told her she could never have. Shortly after his death, Evan tried to fight his feelings for Angie, but their long hidden desire for each other eventually emerged.I really liked this book and can't seem to keep my mouth shut when recommending it! The characters were well developed and I was always on the edge of my seat, waiting for that final moment of surrender between the hero and heroine. That was a little slow to happen for my liking, but I totally enjoyed the book. The supporting characters gave the story depth and made the book more interesting as they were important to the hero and heroine's development. That added to their sexual tension, which is so much more fun and keeps you turning the pages that much faster. Evan likes to be in control and he loved showing that side of himself to Angie. I was kind of liking it myself (lol)! I loved the ending and very much look forward to the next book in the series! Please keep them coming, Ms. Kenner!

All book boyfriends please move aside because we have a new sweet, sexy, and filthy-mouthed leader! Evan Black is the absolute complete package in Wanted. He's got mysterious, charming, funny, sweet and sexy to the nth degree. I really didn't think Ms. Kenner could outdo Damien Stark but, I think she has with Evan Black. Wanted opens up at Angelina Raine's uncle's funeral. Which is almost ironic because he was her only tie to the infamous Chicago Trio- Evan, Cole, and Tyler. They were once students of Jahn's, who he stayed close with even after their departure from his class. While, Lina favors Cole and Tyler as her brothers she has never attributed that relationship to Evan. He's also been so much more, but always out of her reach. It was always an understanding between Evan and Jahn that he wasn't to touch his niece. But, when her grief is too much and Evan is the only one there, she tempts Evan until he can't say no anymore. "He was ripping me apart with every thrust, shattering me, breaking me. He was utterly destroying me, and yet nothing had ever felt so perfect as the sensation of this man inside me. With each thrust he took me higher. With each soft moan he brought us closer."~LinaWanted has a lot of elements to it. There is Lina and Evan's relationship, the warnings Lina keeps receiving to stay away from Evan, and the restraint Lina must find to curb her reckless side. A side which Evan can satisfy unlike any other adrenaline rush she has experienced. Evan and Lina's heat meter was off the charts but, they also had a tenderness where you could see that they understand and support one another 100%. The absolute best part of this book though, was the fact that Evan may have been dark and twisty but, he could still have fun. He was still able to be there for Lina when her dark and twisty past would effect her. It never turned into a "who's past is worse" contest. It was him dealing with his problems and Lina supporting him. Then her dealing with her past and grief and Evan being right there talking her down off the ledge and giving her what she needed. But eventually secrets are unearthed that could jeopardize the future Lina was finally accepting and looking forward to. It was definitely not an easy ride for these two. And neither one is by any means perfect, but they're perfect for one another. They understand that life isn't always rainbows and butterflies. And despite the negative in their life, they choose to live for the positive, and make their own HEA. "I mean that there's never been another woman. It's always been you, Lina. Even before I realized it, you were always there inside me."~EvanI promise you that Evan Black has just made it into my Top 5 Book Boyfriends of all time. He makes this book absolutely sublime! Okay, enough gushing over the hunk. This entire book is magnificent, and Julie does a fantastic job of setting us up for the rest of the series that will feature Cole and Tyler. Wanted is one of those books that made me think my reading time increased substantially, because I absolutely devoured it! All I kept thinking was: "What's going to happen next?, Why can't I find a man like Evan?, Am I still breathing?" I really, and I mean really really, LOVED this book! Just a little housekeeping: this is a standalone (although I wish it wasn't!), the next books in the Wanted series will feature Tyler (Heated), and Cole (Ignited). I will say, I was kinda bummed that Cole's book is last and slotted for September (*pouty face*) because I know where his love interest is coming from and I am SO pumped about it! Anywho, I know I'll love Tyler's story just as much so I can't wait for that one in May. But, Cole and Tyler have mighty big *ahem* shoes to fill :)Happy Reading!!*ARC provided by the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review*

From page one, Wanted drew me in, but was really nothing at all like I expected. If you go into this thinking that you are going to get a whole new "Stark" like story then you will be a little on the disappointed side. Don't get me wrong, this was a great story and the characters were very strong and connected very well. I just didn't get that "Oh my God, hang on to your seat" feeling with this one. I will be reading book two when it releases, because I love J Kenner's writing style and I know she will not let me down, and now that I know what I am going into, I think I will be a little more open-minded to it. Erotic RomanceABOUT THE BOOK:For fans of Fifty Shades of Grey, Bared to You, and Release Me comes an all-new erotic series of three enigmatic and powerful men, and the striking women who can bring them to their knees. He is everything I crave, all I desperately want—and he is everything I can’t have. Evan Black embodies my every fantasy. He is brilliant, fierce, and devastatingly handsome. But he is also headstrong, dangerous, and burdened with secrets. My family warned me to stay away, that I could never handle Evan’s dark dealings or scarred past. Maybe I should have listened. Maybe I should have run. But our desire is undeniable, and some temptations you just can’t fight. And from the moment we touch—the passion between us consuming us both—I know that I will never be the same. Wanted is an erotic romance intended for mature audiences.REVIEW: Oh, this was a book that started out very strong. I was hooked from the beginning and had a hard time putting it down. I like the background this author has established for this potential series. You have these three men who have bonded together and developed this strong friendship through each of their childhoods and being sent to juvy. Then, you have their, for lack of better words, sister in the sense. But when Evan looks at her, he doesn’t see sister. He sees something more. And she only returns the feelings. It’s fun to watch the two dance around being completely honest with each other, while at the same time fighting against broken promises made to others to stay apart. I say it started out strong, because as it went along I got a tad bit frustrated with how everything seemed to fall in place just so easily. Sometimes I had to stop and really think over what was being said because I wondered if that was something that would really be said, or done. And while it’s a romance, I cringed at a few cheesy type of lines. The love story, though was truly sweet to watch and the scenes were very hot. There were only two or three instances in which the scenes dramatically changed and I had to wonder what happened, but I do think this is a story that will sell like wildfire, and one readers are going to love.Four out of five stars for a great job!

When a reader picks up a book to read, there is usually at least a smidgen of hope that the book will turn out to be enjoyable, if not a new favorite to gush over with peers. I'll be honest and admit I picked this up from NetGalley put of sheer boredom when I was getting my monthly two hour infusion. I did not expect to like this book. I didn't even expect to particularly enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it didn't suck as much as I thought it would. Yay! Like I mentioned in the above paragraph, the suckage level could have been way higher, so that's a plus, However, this book did had a few issues; the very twilight-esque beginning, for example. I'm not exactly sure what Kenner was trying to instill in her readers. A sense of drama? Angst? Anticipation? Whatever it was, it had me rolling my eyes and wondering if this was going to be another TWILIGHT fanfic that goes horribly wrong. My second problem with this book was the false advertising. So this is the new FIFTY SHADES and BARED TO YOU? Where's the kink that you hint at? Because I'm not seeing it. Not that BARED TO YOU and FSoG are great examples of BDSM literature, but my mind automatically heads in the (misunderstood) BDSM direction when a book is described as such. It's such a let down when authors don't deliver what they indirectly promise their readers. For the most part, I was mad at this book. I believe it could have been much better if the author had cut out much if the angst, add some real effing kink, and made the characters less annoying. Seriously, I HATE a character that thinks they can act like assholes "for their own good." Like their partners can't have a mind if their own, or something. Gah. In the end, the book had a The Artist Trilogy feel with a HEA and characters I care nothing about. I did like it enough to finish it, and maybe enough to read more, so it can't be a total waste of time and energy. If you want an angst-y, emotional read, then this book is probably for you. Happy Reading! Many thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.Read the FULL review @ No Book Left Behind
