About this audiobook

When magical florist Harriette Harkette decides to throw a lavish eightieth birthday party for herself, she hires Darcy's Aunt Ve's personal concierge service, As You Wish, to plan the soiree. But turning eighty isn't all Harriette is celebrating-the Floracrafter has recently created the midnight black Witching Hour rose, the first all-natural rose of that color.

Darcy works hard on planning an extravagant celebration that will make Harriette feel like the belle of the ball. But when cake delivery boy Michael Healey-a former employee at Harriette's greenhouse-is found dead, the celebration takes a turn. Now Michael's ghost has imprinted on Darcy, meaning that they're bonded until she can untangle the thicket surrounding his murder-and what exactly it has to do with the Witching Hour rose.

Such cute books. I enjoyed this one better than # 2. One needs a bit of fantasy in their life. At least I do! I wish I knew a WishCrafter!

Darcy is asked to put together the birthday party for Henriette, a formidable Floracrafter who is about to get married to an elusive fiancee. Darcy is also asked to find & hire a stripper, a task which is an embarrassment to her, so she hires an older man w/ a beer belly....While waiting for Henriette & birthday cake to arrive, Darcy notices the bakery van outside sitting in the parking lot..... Darcy leaves the party in order to find the errant deliveryman & birthday cake, but what she finds is the body of the deliveryman and an odd light. The deliveryman, Michael, was an Illumencrafter (bringer of light & joy) and his ghost has imprinted upon Darcy, urging her to find his murderer.Henriette had been working w/ Michael developing a Black Rose (which she took all the credit for), which was the envy of other Floracrafters. The Black Roses inspired so much envy, that several had been stolen, which put Michael & Henriette in danger. After Michael is found dead, the roses he was working with also died, as it was his "spell" that was keeping them alive.Just prior to Michael's death, he & his best friend were overheard arguing... After Michael's death is announced to be murder, his best friend (the grandson of Henriette) & Michael's sister immediately disappear. With the help of Michael's ghost, Darcy works to bring the mystery of Michael's death to its conclusion. That is the jist of the main story, but every other person is tied into to the story & each other via their relationships with Henriette & Michael, which make for interesting side stories all with threads back to the main. This was a quick & easy read for me.... The characters are mostly likable and the magical references are pretty tame without extremes.

Very fun, light-hearted read with a just a few heart tugging moments. And an excellent murder mystery that is very well crafted - the murderer was most excellently concealed. As the daughter of a career florist, the story of the elusive black rose was highly entertaining and with each new book it feels like the magic of this "universe" matures a bit more, making this a book I could not put down once I got stuck into it.

The characters of the Enchanted Village are very fleshed out and it's easy to see them in a 3 dimensional way as the book progresses. My favourites are the familiars - Pepe in particular. There's a scene at the end that's definitely gonna stick with me awhile, making me giggle each time I remember it. Ms. Blake has set the stage for a contest over Nick and I have to say I'm not looking forward to that much. But hopefully it won't be a center-stage story line and another excellent murder plot will take the edge off. :)

Another great read in a very strong series.

Local florist Harriete Harkette is turning 80 and won't have anything less than a grand soiree planned by As You Wish, complete with a septuagenarian stripper. Well, the 70 year old part was going to be a surprise from Darcy, who doesn't want all the old ladies having coronaries. The party is interrupted by the discovery of the bakery deliveryman, Michael. Does his death have anything to do with Harriete's new black rose? The Enchanted Village, where witches live in plain sight, continues to be a favorite place of mine. Darcy does a great job sleuthing out clues and ruling out suspects. The secondary characters continue to grow, especially young Mimi. The side story about familiars and whether or not one resides in Aunt Ve's house continues and I will be waiting to read the next story right away.

In Blake’s paranormal mystery novel, magical florist Harriette Harkette is turning eighty and hires As You Wish to throw her a party. In addition to celebrating her birthday she is also celebrating her creation: a black rose.Darcy works hard putting the event together but when the cake fails to arrive on time she goes in search only to stumble upon the delivery boy’s, Michael Healey, body. The celebration takes a turn for the worse because Michael didn’t die of natural causes. Now Michael’s ghost has imprinted on Darcy until she can solve his murder and together that’s what they’ll do.Blake has taken this addition to the A Wishcraft Mystery to a whole new level of fun.

This is the third book in Heather Blake's Wishcraft Series and I have to say that it is my favorite! Another amazing adventure featuring Darcy Merriweather and the Enchanted village crew. There is certainly mystery but also love, drama, and of course family disfunction! After rereading both of the other Wishcraft books (A Witch before Dying and It takes a Witch) I was definitely excited to begin the third. The story line is amazing (and since it is early on I am not going to include specifics) we have all of our familiar characters: Darcy,Aunt Ve, Nick, Mimi, etc but we also meet some new ones as well! The Wicked Sisters are an amazing bunch that definitely make me think of some crazy aunts! The family disfunction is something I am sure most if not all can relate to and of course we get to witness the love between Darcy and Nick bloom! It is a story that will catch your attention and will not let you put it down or forget about it until you read the very last page! I would certainly recommend this book not only to cozies readers everywhere but also to friends and family as this is a story that everyone will be able to relate to in someway!I just cannot wait until the next!! Please give Heather Blake's books a go she is truly an amazing writer and had a voice all her own. I cannot wait to read her other books!Keep an eye out for my reviews of the first two Wishcraft books which will be coming up later this week!
