About this audiobook

The first in USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton’s Redhead series is a playful and erotic romance between an aspiring actress and Hollywood’s hottest new leading man.

WATCH OUT, HOLLYWOOD!

Grace Sheridan is back. Ten years after discovering that looks and talent are a dime a dozen in Los Angeles, she’s wriggling into a pair of badass jeans and ready to show the film industry that there’s way more to her than just a head of gorgeous red curls. And Hollywood’s newest Brit super-hunk Jack Hamilton certainly sees a lot to like. Grace is trying to restrain herself from jumping a man who is nearly a decade her junior, but Jack is making it clear that he personally has zero problems with that idea.

While Grace and Jack are still swapping innuendo-loaded quips and text sex though, the paparazzi have caught up with them, headlining the “unidentified redhead” who’s been photographed trysting at a restaurant with the heartthrob of the year. Now Grace is in stuck in a double bind. She’s head over heels in lust with Jack, but there’s her own career to think of as well. A sizzling romance with the newest “it” boy may garner her industry attention . . . but is it the kind of attention she’s always dreamed of?

Fun and fluffy, but not as funny as I was expecting from other reviews and rather laboured in parts. Not interested in reading the next one.

Charming, funny, adorable. The only problem was that Grace and Jack are constantly quipping, they never have a normal non-jokey conversation. I love banter, but if the only time you drop the banter is during sex play (and often not then) it gets exhausting and it means you are not actually communicating. Also, Jack constantly talks about how he loves Grace's intelligence or sense of humor or singing, or whatever in addition to her body, Grace never says anything until the last 20 pages or so about Jack other than how pretty he is. He demonstrates that he is fantastic, thoughtful and patient and funny and lovely, but she never talks about anything but the pretty. That total objectification was a bit unappealing. Overall I really had fun with this one though. My first Alice Clayton, but trust that I will be moving on to book 2 in the series soon.

This one is a re-read, mostly because I read another book with a very similar plot and characters. It held up very well and is still very funny. Grace and Jack are wonderful characters, perfect for each other, and Ms. Clayton does a great job of showing this, despite their many differences. The other book I read ends on a cliffhanger, like this one, but never goes on to resolve the story as this one does in the sequels. It ruined the book for me (the other one), and I re-read this to reassure myself I wasn't imagining how this one is so much better.

This book was just what I needed. It was light and funny and perfect after some very intense reads. I listened to it on audible and the woman's voice was perfect. Would recommend for sure.

The story was good, but predicable. The batter between Gracie and George was good, but I got tried of the joke quickly. I will continue with the series, only to read more of Jack. Grace, a bit annoying.

First let me simply state: I LOVED IT!

    HOT! HOT! HOT!

It's been ten years since Grace's unsuccessful attempt to make it as an actor. Determined, she returns to L.A. a little older (if you call can 33 years old), thinner, and wiser. She has a chance meeting one night with Hollywood's "next big thing", British hottie Jack Hamilton. His first big U.S. movie is about to be released in a few months and everyone says it will skyrocket his career to super star status.

After their first meeting Jack spares no time letting it be known he's interested in crazy and outspoken Grace. The chemistry between the two is undeniable.

"We never stood a chance trying to fight this..."- Grace.

The problem is Jack is only 24 years old, why would this gorgeous "It" boy be interested in Grace when he has younger and perkier girls constantly throwing themselves at him? My girl Grace decides to choose confidence over insecurity!

"Twenty-four-year-olds were my new favorite thing. I needed to tell Oprah to put that on her list."- Grace

"Crazy, what are you trying to do to me?" he sighed...- Jack

...and soon nothing else matters. Grace only wants Jack and he wants her just as bad!

"Sex God, Wonder Tongue, Mr. Multiple but boyfriend sounds good.- Grace

Grace must stay focused on her own career goals, battle cougar accusations and the urge to stay wrapped in a blissful bubble with Jack. Both of their lives are about to change, will it bring them closer together or pull them apart.

    My favorite quote:
"I continued to stare at him marveling at how lucky I was to have him, and I realized, with a start, that he was lucky to have me too."

    How do I really feel?:
Did I mention already that this book was... HOT! Some of the best non sex scenes I have ever read along with the real stuff of course! Holy Mama!

This book was so funny, and just perfect to me! No dizzy complications, just a fun ride! I admired everything about Grace. She's the perfect combination of confident, sexy and goofy. She pretty much clubbed Jack over the head and dragged him away, and he didn't stand a chance! I've never had a girl crush before but I do now! I love that Alice Clayton writes such strong female characters. Her books are an automatic read for me going forward . Grace is a list maker "Girls Who Rock!" I also think I'm going to steal some of her moves, too!

Jack was dreamy, sexy as hell and silly. He and Grace just complimented each other so well. He's a list maker "Guys I'm in love with." Alice Clayton just knows how to create men that I would fall for. I love a man who is sexy, silly and carries just enough Alpha without tipping over into controlling, Jack was perfect. I'm starting the sequel now!

This had been on my to-read list for about two years, ever since I finished Wallbanger -- which I thought was phenomenally funny and sweet and un-put-downable, and, thus, the reason I added all of Alice Clayton's other books to my to-read list. This book is fine with good characters and a believable allbeit rushed story, but not nearly as un-put-downable as Wallbanger. It is easy to read in one sitting and easy to get back into when you do not have long bits of time to read, or if you are interrupted often. I did enjoy the light-heartedness of the main couple and her relationship with her roommate. The light banter between the characters was good. The attention he gave her ( in the bedroom, in the kitchen, in the shower and on the closet floor) was what exactly chick lit readers want to read.

The only drawback -- I absolutely, truly cannot believe I am about to write this - never would I have ever dreamed this could possibly be true - really??!?! Okay, here goes. Too much sex. There's too much sex and it is utterly crazy that she has multiples galore. Yea for her, but now I'm feeling completely inadequate. On a serious note, I enjoyed the talk/relationship between the He and the She that I would have enjoyed a bit of a trade-off between the number of encounters & multiples they/she enjoyed for a bit more relationship building dating/hanging out between the two. Not necessarily more drama or miscommunication, but more play. Their realationship went from fling to I Love You a bit soo quickly to believe. In a perfect world, I'd like Ms Clayton to develop this side a bit more. This may be done through books 2 & 3, though I imagine with more drama before the couple settles down for good.

If you like Alice Clayton or if you like light-hearted banter among 20- and 30-somethings or if you like LOTS of sex in your chick-lit reads, read this book. I will continue on this series, but will probably go back to the Wallbanger series first.

This story was interesting enough to finish but it didn't have a lot of action or plot. It felt more like a soap opera with lots of sex and I wasn't all that impressed with either hero or heroine. I skimmed a lot. Aspiring actress Gracie is instantly to attracted budding heartthrob actor young Jack.

Great book and a fun and light read. I'm thinking that all the conflict and angst were left for the next installment of the series, because we didn't actually get any here which is the reason why I didn't give this book a five star rating. Good story. Thought the characters were really good and the chemistry between Grace and Jack was great. Jack is so damn sexy and funny. Holly is the bomb, she always made me laugh. I recommend this one for those who are looking for a something full of sappy and cute moments and good writing.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT !!!!! I LOVE Alice Clayton and her humor in her writing . Once again I found myself laughing my butt off throughout this book .

When Grace Sheridan returns to Los Angeles to become a working actor, it's a second shot at a life-long dream. With some help from her best friend and agent, that dream could become a reality, but at thirty-three, has Grace missed her chance at the big time? Will an unexpected sizzling romance with the entertainment industry's newest 'it' boy shine an uncomfortable spotlight on her life? Alice Clayton spins a playful and erotic May to December romance in this, her debut novel. Clayton's funny, borderline neurotic heroine is perfect in her imperfections, and the off the charts sexual chemistry between her and her charming, yet blissfully unaware leading man are the true heart of The Unidentified Redhead. With laugh out loud dialogue and a super steamy romance that will get your heart racing, sneaking around in L.A. and dodging the Paparazzi has never been so fun.

I LOVED Jack and his Brit humor OMG way to funny for sure. Sexy talk , care that he takes with Grace , I just love him lots .

I loved Grace too , witty , funny as hell and and ASSHEAD !!!! hahahahaha .

“There's all kinds of stuff on the internet. You could've Googled it." he stated. still moving his hand closer. I could feel the energy between us begin to hum again. "I think that you should go Google yourself, Brit boy. I'm not interested in Googling you .”

“Oh , God, the British Have landed, Haven't they?”

“We have to stop, this is insane. I literally cannot handle anymore. I think I’ve lost brain function. I can actually feel myself becoming stupid”

“Not possible. Let’s test it. What’s two times two?”
    “Orange?”

I'm jumping right into The Redhead Revealed I can not wait to see what happens , I hope their love for each other can withstand the distance and issues that are about to arise for them .

This book started out great, but it went into major freefall, got so nauseatingly mushy that I couldn't even finish it.

You know that scene in Friends where Ross and Julie are all, "No, you hang up!" and Rachel rips the phone out of his hands to turn it off? Yeah, exactly how I felt.

That, and the "tension" and them doing everything in the bedroom but penetration was ridiculous.

I really enjoyed Wallbanger, but this one was completely lacking in plot. Sadly, it was just a collection of sex scenes strung together with long, mushy moments of mutual adoration. Blerg.

I really enjoyed this first story in the Redhead series. Grace is a riot, determined to try her hand again show business after being gone for a decade. I appreciate the fact that Grace was a realist, not someone who let her early acting failures bring her down. She was smart enough to go back to school and get a degree doing something she was good at, while at the same time knowing she what needed to do and change if she wanted to get back into acting. While attending a party thrown by her BFF and roommate Holly (a talent agent), Grace is introduced to Super-Sexy-Scientist Guy Jack Hamilton, who is on his way to becoming Hollywood's next big thing. Sparks (and saltines) fly when Grace and Jack meet; innocent flirting and innuendos lead to a budding relationship. While they are both insanely attracted to each other, Grace is concerned about not only the age difference, but also about how a potential public relationship could derail Jack's career before it really gets going, although it seems young Jack could care less about all of that.Jack seems to genuinely care for and love Grace, and she feels the same way toward him, I just wish the readers could have seen the more serious side to their romance. There was an opportunity for a bit of drama to occur when Jack got the late night text message, but nothing was ever said about that. The only time we got a teeny bit of drama was when Michael showed up at Holly's house, and right before Grace is leaving for New York and they get into an argument.A good series start, I can't wait to read the rest of the stories to see how Grace and Jack handle their celebrity status and their relationship.

THE UNIDENTIFIED REDHEAD succeeds on pure charm. It's funny and breezy with more than a soupcon of wish-fulfillment but the characters are so likable - and Grace in particular - that I never minded.

Not a whole lot happens in THE UNIDENTIFIED REDHEAD. There's hardly any conflict. But there IS plenty of character growth, which is less obvious but just as satisfying, and Alice Clayton has crafted a group of characters it's fun to spend time with. There are some books where the author goes to great pains to craft really epic, action-packed scenes and they make me shrug. In THE UNIDENTIFIED REDHEAD, silly little things like a drive down to the beach or a homecooked meal are memorable and fun.

What can I say? I was along for the ride. THE UNIDENTIFIED REDHEAD is a nice feel-good book, and it made me smile.

Update as of April 19, 2013. Just want to publicly state that since reading this book (in mid 2011) I have had to make a decision about my personal opinion on pulling fanfiction to publish for money. And I have come down on the side of Not Okay. Hard. This book came out before the Twilight fanfiction fandom exploded with greed.

This practice has broken the fandom in two, and it has broken long-standing friendships into pieces.
I will not change my original review, because I *did* feel all those emotions.

Sadly it would have made SO much more sense if I had read it about Edward and Bella.

ETA: It has been brought to my attention that, apparently, this may not have been twilight fanfiction originally (before being pulled to publish in this form), but the even creepier variation of Real People Fiction, starring Robert Pattinson and an original character, which makes me REALLY happy I never read the original fic, and only marginally happier that what I read had been cleansed with that specific atrocity.

    Original Review:
Off to get #2 in the series! Great read, fun as hell, and finally a woman character with both wits and a real sense of humor. Lovely, absolutely lovely.

Sweet nuts! If you haven’t read The Unidentified Redhead, what are you waiting for? Stop what you are doing, go and get your hands on a copy NOW. I’ll wait…okay now that you have your copy, are ready for one of the best rides you’ve ever had?The Unidentified Redhead is a fast-paced, madcap of a book. A fun, light, and happy read. You’ll be left wanting more of Jack and Grace and crying eyes out from all the laughter. Grace Sheridan gave up her Hollywood dreams years ago and returns to Hollywood to give it another go this time older and hopefully wiser. Her best friend, Holly, is an agent and represents not only Grace, but one of Hollywood’s up-and-coming golden boys, Jack Hamilton.Alice Clayton quickly introduces us to Jack and Grace and their instant chemistry. Grace has no idea who Jack is and what the fuss is about regarding the upcoming release of his film, Time, about Joshua, a Super Sexy Scientist, who time travels and in each period has a new love interest. Holly, who happens to also be Jack’s agent, mentions it to Jack. Not one for seeing an opportunity pass him by, Jack, of course, asks Grace to run away with him because as he explains to Holly, ” ‘I told you, the next female I meet that hasn’t heard of this silly little film I will run off with, have a tasty little tryst to satisfy the gossip magazines. How lucky am I that she seems normal?’ ” This is where the real fun begins. As the night progresses, Grace enjoys a fun evening filled with witty banter with Jack and quickly realizes that no matter how much fun she had flirting with him nothing can come of it; after all, Jack is nine years younger than herself. Jack and Grace are bound to cross paths, and Grace quickly realizes that Jack might be attracted to her. Grace’s inner dialogue is quick and witty. Upon realizing that she might actually be attracted to Jack, she debates this attraction: “The guy looks young enough to be your kid, Grace. Yes, but only if I’d really slutted it up in junior high.”Although the book is told through Grace’s point of view, we do get a sense of Jack’s feelings and what he feels for Grace. This can seen in a variety of different ways. And without giving spoilers, all I will say is: Jack’s cast mates. The fears and concern both Jack and Grace feel are genuine. We see this immediately upon the first unofficial date Jack and Grace have. Grace takes him to her favorite restaurant and there she notices a few fans pulling out their phones to snap photos of him. He, of course, brushes off her concerns, but we can truly see how she feels. Afterwards a very important scene happens that will have you laughing your pants off and wishing you hadn’t had that extra glass of water before starting the book. The Unidentified Redhead has fully developed characters. You’ll be left wanting to make friends with Nick and wishing you had a best friend like Holly. Holly’s comebacks will leave you laughing. One of my favorite lines Holly utters happens after Jack and Grace have spent a day together. “So how’s the British invasion going? Has he invaded your hoohah yet?” Clayton also does a great job with Grace, who comes to terms with who she is. And although she gave up her Hollywood dream, Grace is quick to admit that she shouldn’t have given up. What I really liked is that Clayton kept the friendship between Holly and Grace intact. In most circumstances a friendship wouldn’t survive someone giving up their dreams and then trying to come back to fulfill them. I’m glad Clayton gave us Holly who not only represented her as an agent, but was there to believe in her friend.Clayton gives us a genuine ending and the satisfaction of seeing Grace achieve her dreams. Through Grace we get to realize what it feels like to let a dream a go, regret it, and try to make it happen. The only complaint I have of the entire book? I wish the Time series existed. I could devour those. In the meantime I stay satisfied with Super Sexy Jack Hamilton.

I will get right to it...I loved this book! I loved it so much I'd marry it, date it, read it again, dream about it, whatever. Yes, I liked it THAT much. I am typically a hard core paranormal romance kind of gal, but Alice Clayton, you rocked my genre world!Grace Sheridan is our lovely female main character that is so identifiable to me, despite this book's title. She is in her early thirties, tried acting in her "younger years", gave up when it wasn't easy, went to college, and now makes a nice living doing something completely boring if you have the bug for acting. The book actually begins after this time when Grace has an epiphany and loses the adult weight she has gained, moves back out to California, and begins her attempts at acting again with a new, more mature perspective. I immediately loved Grace because I also tried acting at an early age (agent and everything), but when it came time to grow up and go try acting in California, I didn't have the guts. College, dealing with getting older, possible regrets, I get you Grace. The other identifiable piece? Grace is funny and sarcastic. I love it! I would like to be a brunette Grace Sheridan please. Now that Clayton has me hooked into vicariously living in her book, she introduced me to Jack Hamilton. Let's just go straight to listing the adjectives: HOT, funny, handsome, gets sarcasm, eye candy, sweet, man beautiful, patient, gorgeous, talented, and the next big thing to hit Hollywood. A little side note, he's in his early twenties. The attraction and interaction between Grace and Jack is amazing! The banter slaps a grin on your face, and the physical relationship...Oh la la! Clayton knows how to write chemistry.I do not in any way want to give away the plot of this book, you must read it and take this Grace and Jack journey into crazy-land. I laughed, I yearned, I got a bit teary eyed, and most importantly, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to keep reading this book. The writing style of Clayton is fluid, as if you were truly living the scenes. The struggles of age difference, careers, fame, beauty, love, and intimacy are well planned and described. All the insecurities that come with each characters personal place in life was intriguing and spot on. I championed these two people and loved every minute of my read. The minor characters are just as interesting that are well developed, have their own sense of being, and fit perfectly into their assigned roles. The Redhead Revealed is the second book in The Redhead series and as luck would have it, I had a copy ready to go and immediately cracked that book open. I just can't get enough of Grace and Jack. I want to thank Omnific Publishing for review copies of The Redhead series, The Book Vixen for getting me on this review bang wagon, and Alice Clayton for broadening my reading horizons and given me a new genre and author to enrich my literary life.
