About this audiobook

After escaping the claws of Corrigan, the Lord Alpha of the Brethren, Mack is trying to lead a quiet lonely life in Inverness in rural Scotland, away from anyone who might happen to be a shapeshifter. However, when she lands a job at an old bookstore owned by a mysterious elderly woman who not only has a familiar passion for herbal lore but also seems to know more than she should, Mack ends up caught in a maelstrom between the Ministry of Mages, the Fae and the Brethren.

Now she has to decide between staying hidden and facing the music, as well as confronting her real feelings for the green eyed power of Corrigan himself.

While reading Bloodmagic, I was really pulled in by this series. I think that Alex's name for Mackenzie, "Mack Attack" is certainly appropriate. While Mack's constant temper can be annoying at times, as a Draco Were Dragon, I suppose it's understandable. But I still love her and the other characters in Helen Harpers Blood Destiny series. I loved Mack's fierce loyalty to her friends and her original shifter clan. Anyway in this book she's hiding from the Lord Alpha because she fears if the Brethren discover she's human they will kill her and her entire pack for harboring her. She's trying to live a quiet life in Scotland, but of course destiny overtakes her. Next thing you know she's caught the attention of the Fey lord Solus Apollinarus , seriously pissed off the Ministry of Mages by suddenly developing mage level powers (despite her friend Alex unswerving loyalty) and the obvious feelings of the Lord Alpha Corrigan towards her. The story 's a lot of fun to read and despite the cliché, I couldn't put the book down. I've already picked up the next book in the series, Bloodrage . I do hope that in the next book,Mack and Corrigan finally get together. Jack Murphy

I liked this book much more. Happy I stuck with it. Yes she can be a little annoying, but that's a realistic character for ya.
This book made me chuckle, has action and moves so fast there's no time for a break. Also weirdly soothing listening to a book based in the UK with the lovely profanity that I love.
No smut and little to null steam, but the slow burn is growing...very slowly
