About this audiobook
A high-octane thriller from the author of The Perfect Assassin
David Slaton has a good life. He has a new wife and a house in the Virginia suburbs. But he also has a dark past. Slaton is a former kidon, the most lethal Israeli assassin ever created.
After decades of work, a brilliant scientist has taken Iran to the threshold of its dream—a nuclear-tipped ballistic missile. Mossad must eliminate the man, but with a spy lurking high in its ranks there is only one option: bring back Slaton. The kidon has vowed to never kill again, but when his wife is attacked and forced to flee across Europe, events force his hand.
Slaton plots to assassinate one of the most closely guarded men on earth. Success is improbable. Survival unlikely. Only when he learns the labyrinthine truth does Slaton see one high-stakes chance. A chance for an assassin’s game….

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5To slow. Needed something with more action on my drive.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5If you are looking for action, there isn't really any until the very end. The plot isn't bad but unfolds way too slowly for my taste. The characters are just ok. A big issue I have is that the narrator is very distracting. He's very mechanical and all the Swedish characters have bad Indian accents.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Assassin’s Game is the second book in this series, and since I could not find an actual name for the series, I christen it The Kidon. Which is Hebrew for bayonet and is also the code name for some of Israel's assassin’s. Which is actually ironic considering that the name assassin came from an Islamic religious sect. I started this series with this book and I am tempted to pick up the first one.Slaton aka Deadmarsh has been living a quiet life in the US, most recently working for a landscaper putting in retaining walls. His wife is in Sweden at a medical seminar when he gets a text from her. He drops everything and flies over. What he finds is a flubbed attempt at a kidnapping but his wife is still missing. He soon learns who was behind it and it doesn’t make him happy. It’s his old place of work, and they want him to do ‘one last job’, and they will leave him and his wife alone. Needless to say this makes him a very unhappy person. David Slaton is a very dangerous person to have against you.The job. To kill a famous and dangerous nuclear physicist working on Iran’s nuke program. He appears he will actually make it succeed. And soon. This turns into a very interesting game of cat and mouse and several very serious twists that you don’t find out until almost the end. It also becomes very interesting when the last pieces are fit, why David was ‘asked’ to play his part in the drama. It’s a bit shocking what some are willing to send others to do.
