Описание

She's back. For the two years she's been away at boarding school, and there was no word from her. Back when we lived in the same house, she used to cut me down during the day and then leave her door open for me at night.

I was stupid then, but now I'm ready to beat her at her own game.

I'm back. Two years and I can tell he still wants me, even if he acts like he's better than me. But I won't be scared away. Or pushed down. I'll call his bluff and fight back. That's what he wants, right? As long as I keep my guard up, he'll never know how much he affects me.

Ooooo I absolutely love this book. The forbidden romance and taboo lines that get blurred are so intense and so much fun. This book pushes the limits in the best way possible. Book 2 in the Fall Away Series was even better than the first. I even love the opening of the book where Fallon clearly digs Tate from book one wondering why she never sticks up for herself ?

Fallon was gone for a while, and when she returns she causes a storm. Madoc was just fine and living his life, until she comes back into town and turns everything upside down. There is soooo much tension between these characters and so much hate from each of them. This story has a slow burn that intensifies as it goes. Little bits and pieces are revealed so slowly that you just follow the crumb trail trying to get to the cookie end. I can’t even express in words how much I love this book. The essence of the forbidden romance gave a whole new level on top of the bullying and fighting between both characters. This book has a lot of flash backs that are used to explain how these two got to the point of hating each other so bad. Part of me was just ‘alright what’s the answer already’, but also part was ‘oooo this is building to be quite the explosion!’. I love when the characters have to fight with everything they have and only if they choose to risk it all can they be happy in the end.

There is something to be said about audiobooks. Sometimes you can just feel another layer of emotion. I’m this case, when I hear Abby Craden (narrator) saying Fallon at the climax of the book, on top of hearing, I can feel the anguish Madoc is portraying. It is another level of experiencing the book and in a whole different way. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book and really feeling it myself. Even typing this, I know you’re not going to feel what I feel. I can only hope this review finds those who need one of these emotional turmoils that push the limits and gives you immense satisfaction coming together in the end. This is definitely going on my TBBL (to be bought list). I NEED a physical copy!

I loved it.This book was awesome. I loved witnessing Madoc and Fallon finding their way back to each other. I sighed, cried and then sighed again.Perfect.Favorite scene:“Madoc.” Her whisper sounded like she was in pain.“Shhh,” I ordered, going in for her lips again. But she pulled away. “No, I need to say this.” She held my face and looked into my eyes. That’s when I noticed she wasn’t wearing her glasses. Her beautiful green gaze searched my eyes with a little fear, and her face was flushed pink. God, she was beautiful.“Madoc, I love you,” she whispered. “I’m in love with you.”My fists tightened around her shirt, and I almost dropped her there. What? My heart seemed to thud deeper and deeper into my chest, descending into my stomach. Sweat broke out across my forehead, and my legs were nearly gone. She stared at me, looking scared but definitely awake and alert. She knew what she was saying, and I ran the words over and over in my head.Madoc, I love you. I’m in love with you.I lowered my chin, narrowing my eyes. “Do you mean that?” I asked. She nodded. “I’ve loved you forever. There’s so much I need to tell you.”My arms tightened around her, and the biggest fucking smile I ever felt broke out across my face.“Nothing else matters,” I told her, sweeping up her lips for another kiss so hard we couldn’t breathe(less)

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Heartwarming, emotional, steamy new adult romance that will capture your heart! I loved this book and would highly recommend it to all new adult fans!Opening Sentence: There were people I liked and people I didn’t like. The Review:Two years ago 16-year-old Fallon was shipped off to boarding school. After all that time away she has come back home to finally get the closure she needs to move on with her life. She wants revenge for how she was treated and what she lost. Her plan is to seduce the boy that shattered her heart all that time ago and leave him with a broken heart this time around. What she didn’t expect was how much he would still affect her and how wrong she was about the past.Madoc is a rich boy with great friends and an endless amount of girls to fill his bed. Sure his family life is screwed up, but who’s isn’t. For the most part he is happy with how his life has turned out, but then one of his biggest regrets walks back into his life. Fallon is the only girl to ever came close to touching his heart and she just walked out of his life two years ago without even saying goodbye. She was always good at playing games, but Madoc is no longer a horny teenage boy. He is a man now and he’s willing to fight for what he wants.I absolutely adored Fallon. She is a spunky, independent, skater chick that doesn’t take crap from anyone. She wasn’t always as strong as she is now. Growing up was not a fairytale for her. She has a crazy mom that cares only about herself and the money she can get from her husbands. She has a good relationship with her father but his business is not 100% legal, so for her safety she has never gotten too close. She doesn’t trust easily, but for some reason she used to trust Madoc until he broke her heart. Fallon has grown so much in the last couple years but she still has a lot of pain from unsolved issues and watching her learn how to deal with them was both heartbreaking and inspirational. She was a really easy character to sympathize with and I developed a very deep connection with her throughout the story. I loved that she was strong but at the same time she knew she wasn’t invincible. She was a great protagonist and I’m glad I got to read her story.Madoc is a super sexy, preppy, charming guy that is totally swoon worthy! I liked him when I met him in Bully, so it wasn’t a surprise that I loved him in Rival. He has this confidence about him that draws you in and makes you want to know him better. Sure he can be jerk, but for the most part he is a really great guy. His relationship with Fallon is explosive and full of great sexual tension. The two of them fight like cats and dogs, but they have some pretty steamy make up scenes. They have a love/hate relationship and in so many ways they are prefect for each other. Madoc was so easy to love and he has become one of my favorite book boys!Rival is a heartwarming, emotional, steamy new adult romance that will capture your heart. I personally had a few issues with the first book in the series, so I was a little nervous to read this one, but luckily all the issues that were present in the previous book were not present in this one. From the first page I was instantly hooked and I found it hard to put this one down. The pacing was spot on and overall the story was very entertaining. There were some very emotional moments, great humorous moments, and awesome sexy moments. The romance was hot and developed perfectly. I loved Fallon and Madoc together, their relationship was adorable and interesting. I also enjoyed getting to know all the secondary characters and I’m interested to read some of their stories in the future books. Overall, this was a great read and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a steamy new adult romance.Notable Scene:“Say it, Fallon.” He pushed into me, his lips in my hair. “Tell me how much you hated my hands on you … my mouth on you.”I splayed my palms against the door, remembering how my hands had been on every inch of him.Madoc became my world two years ago. I’d wait for him at night, my heat pumping a mile a minute, knowing that he was coming. Knowing that he was going to touch me. I loved all of it. I never wanted the sun to come up.I pushed back against his body, the wet heat between my legs nearly making me groan.FTC Advisory: NAL/Penguin provided me with a copy of Rival. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

I find it rare when a sequel is better than the original, but Rival by Penelope Douglas was able to pull it off. I read and reviewed the previous books, Bully and Until You, but wasn’t too impressed after Until You. In Bully, we were introduced to Rival’s hero Madoc, a bully and the antagonizing friend who appeared to mean well, even if he goes about things a bit twisted. We were given a glimpse during Until You of the secret depths within Madoc, so I was looking forward to reading his story. In Rival we meet Fallon, a tough as nails gal that goes to school with Tate and Jared. Madoc and Fallon share a hatred for one another, which makes their lives even more complicated since they’re parents are married and they live together. After their battles reach an interesting breaking point when they’re sixteen, things start looking better…until they’re pulled from each others lives. Two years later, Fallon is back with one thing on her mind, revenge.I loved Madoc and Fallon together. Even when they hated each other, there was a sweet energy pulling them together. Fallon was strong, even in her moments of heartache. She had her weaknesses, but she knew they’d help her grow. Madoc was definitely a shock, in a great way. I was prepared to not like him, but he wound up being such a wonderful character. His heart was so big and full of love. The little things he did to show he cared, even when he “hated” Fallon, were so touching.Penelope Douglas has a way with words. Even when the characters are flawed, the story is addicting and it’s too hard to resist reading. I loved Rival and I can only hope Falling Away, Jax’s story, will be just as awesome.
