About this audiobook

The New York Times and USA Today bestselling New Adult author returns with a sizzling novel of love, loss, guilt, and forgiveness.

Grey and Ben fell in love at thirteen and believed they’d be together forever. But three days before their wedding, the twenty-year-old groom-to-be suddenly died from an unknown heart condition, destroying his would-be-bride’s world. If it hadn’t been for their best friend, Jagger, Grey never would have made it through those last two years to graduation. He’s the only one who understands her pain, the only one who knows what it’s like to force yourself to keep moving when your dreams are shattered. Jagger swears he’ll always be there for her, but no one has ever been able to hold on to him. He’s not the kind of guy to settle down.

It’s true that no one has ever been able to keep Jagger—because he’s only ever belonged to Grey. While everyone else worries over Grey’s fragility, he’s the only one who sees her strength. Yet as much as he wants Grey, he knows her heart will always be with Ben. Still they can’t deny the heat that is growing between them—a passion that soon becomes too hot to handle. But admitting their feelings for each other means they’ve got to face the past. Is being together what Ben would have wanted . . . or a betrayal of his memory that will eventually destroy them both?

Letting Go is a sweet romance filled with conflict and longing. I could've used a little less drama, but I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Grey and Jagger grow. Molly McAdams is an author to watch, and I look forward to reading more of her work.***I received a free copy of this book, and in exchange, I have provided an honest review.***

Grey and Ben fell in love when they were just teenagers. Jagger was a friend to both but also in love with Grey. When a tragedy strikes right before Grey and Ben's wedding day, Jagger must see Grey through the crisis. A love story that should satisfy anyone who loves a happy ending.

Grey and Ben started dating at age 13 and were together until a car accident 3 days before their wedding shattered their fairytale. Ben’s brother Jagger was Grey’s shoulder as both families were devastated by the loss of their collective dream. Now as young adults about to graduate from college, Grey and Jagger have reached a point where they have realized their friendship has blossomed into more. But can they pursue these feelings? Is it a betrayal to Ben’s memory? This one was predictable but I still liked it. Obviously spending so much time together and getting through hard times would forge a bond between young people, so I wasn’t surprised at Jagger’s feelings. What I did find annoying is Grey’s wallowing in her grief because it seemed the pain was more for the “dream” than the actual relationship she had with Ben.I didn’t like the twist at the end of the story because I felt like the author was trying to really bolster Grey and Ben as a couple. But if you like Molly McAdams stories, this is the same kind of formula.

Letting Go is a fiction book in the New Adult category. I have been reading quite a few books of this genre and it is difficult for me to find one that I feel is fresh and different. Although Letting Go had a few elements to the story that were different than the norm, I personally had a hard time connecting to the characters. The story seemed to drag for me, but I did press on to the end because I wanted to learn the answers to the questions raised in the book. I will probably recommend the book to friends who enjoy books of this kind even though I wasn't blown away by it.

From the opening pages, I knew I as going to have trouble liking this book, but I had some hope. As I continued reading however, that hope was lost. I have to say, I did think that McAdams did justice to the overwhelming feelings of loss involved with the death of a loved one; that part of the novel rang true. Unfortunately, most of the rest of it did not. To me, all of these folks were way too young for their single-minded devotion to getting married and living happily ever after. The way that Grey gushed about her love made me think she had a lot of growing up to do, while Jagger on the other hand seemed remarkably (and unrealistically) mature about her ongoing feelings of guilt about their relationship. The stalker was an unnecessary added element- it was also clear from the get-go exactly who it was. And the whole sub-plot about Jagger's mother? I find it unrealistic that folks who have been so close for so long had absolutely no idea she was an evil manipulative monster. I think this book tried to do too much and so had no real substance to the story. Sadly, a disappointing read.

The Synopsis:Grey's fiance, Ben, tragically dies three days before their wedding. Their mutual best friend, Jagger, has been in love with Grey for years, and though he's grieving the loss of his friend, he keeps his feelings for Grey to himself so that he can be there to support her. Fast forward two years after Ben's death, and Jagger finally gets the opportunity to try and win Grey's heart, but the journey towards togetherness is fraught with obstacles: guilt, betrayal, and an a sinister plot to pry them apart. My Thoughts:Grey and Jagger are both appealing characters. The supporting characters are well-drawn too. McAdams works hard to ensure her characters are multi-dimensional. Her protagonists emulate loyalty and forgiveness. Her antagonists are convincingly evil. The plot is well-paced with the story shifting focus as events unfold. This is only the second of McAdams' books that I've read. While I enjoyed it, I'm not sure that her style appeals to me as much as it might to other readers. Jagger, while likeable, feels a little too to-good-to-be-true. (Maybe I simply prefer a more brooding, conflicted hero, which if so, isn't a reflection on McAdams.) The plot is fraught with really awful, heart-wrenching situations, almost to an off-putting extreme. Drama is fine and necessary, but a bit more comic foil would have been very welcome in this story. While engaging, this New Adult novel fell a bit flat for me. That being said, the supporting characters were interesting enough to me that I plan to read the next installment in this series so I can find out what happens to them and how they too eventually find love.

Days before her wedding, Grey finds out that her to-be-husband, Ben dies of an unknown heart disease. And it breaks Grey's heart in half. For the next two years, Grey is going through the motions. But she's slowly getting better, but no one sees it but Jagger. He's the only one who see how strong she is during this hard time when her family doesn't think so. He stays by her side when on one else does, but she doesn't know that Jagger has been in love with for years. Once she founds out through his drawings of her, she doesn't know what to think. But soon Grey realizes that everyone knows that Jagger has always been in love with her.Once she figures out her feelings she os stopping herself from fully loving Jagger. But just like Grey, Jagger is dealing with the guilt of loving Grey, because of Ben. But of course when both are to the point to allow themselves more so Grey, than Jagger, of course Molly McAdams had to add a twist in there. I mean what is a McAdams book without a huge twist and secret to get the story along? Both are finally happy, but then we have some crazy stalker who is leaving old vows, a needy greedy mother and lots of other things. Let me just say that Ben had a lot of secrets. I LOVED Jagger's patience and Grey's amazing character development. Jagger is an amazing character who can easily be a favorite book boyfriend. This was another AMAZING book by Molly.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: Beautiful, emotional story that delivered a wonderful message about loss, hope, and moving forward. I would highly recommend this to new adult fans looking for a fast, sexy, heartwarming story!Opening Sentence: “Then over there is where the girls and I will be waiting before the ceremony starts,” I said, pointing to all-season tent standing just off to the side. The Review:Two years ago twenty year old Ben Craft died from an unknown genetic heart condition. One minute he was playing golf and talking to his best friend Jagger and then he suddenly died. It was three days before he was to marry his childhood sweetheart, Grey. Grey and Ben had been together since they were thirteen years old and they figured that they would have a lifetime together. But instead of getting her happily-ever-after, Grey was left alone and devastated. For the last two years she has been going through the motions of life, but it has been a struggle. There is no way she would have made it through her grief without Jagger by her side. Jagger, Ben, and Grey have been friends since they were kids and Jagger is the only person that can understand what Grey is going through. They both lost someone they loved and they have forced each other to keep moving.Jagger will always be there for Grey no matter what. Unknown to Grey, he has been in love with her since they were kids, but he knows that her heart will always belong to Ben. But when Grey finds out that Jagger has always had more than friendly feelings for her she realizes that she might feel the same way for him. Would it be a disgrace to Ben’s memory for them to be together or would he have wanted them to find happiness with each other? If they have any chance of making their relationship work they are both going to have to come to terms with the past and learn to move on together.Grey was a great heroine that I connected with instantly. Reading her story was devastating and while I haven’t ever gone through anything close to what she went through, I could easily sympathize with her situation. It was heartbreaking to see how broken she was for such a long time after the death of her fiance, but watching her learn to deal with it was very inspirational. The type of loss she experienced is something you never quite get over, but as the days turn into weeks and the weeks turned into years Grey slowly started to live her life again. Many might see her as weak or whiny with how she deals with her grief, but to me it made her feel more realistic. There were a few times that I got annoyed with how she would treat Jagger, but nothing that bothered me too bad. I am glad I got to read her story and enjoyed getting to know her character.Jagger is hands down my favorite part about this entire book. He is a sexy guy that has a heart of gold. He is respectful, kind, honest, and a great listener. He seriously has the patience of a saint when it comes to waiting and being there for Grey. Not only is he dealing with the grief of losing his best friend, he is helping Grey deal with her grief as well. It is obvious from the very beginning that Jagger and Grey are meant to be together, but that doesn’t mean their relationship is easy. In many ways they both feel like they are betraying Ben and his memory. But as things between them heat up it is undeniable that they have amazing chemistry. I loved every minute of their relationship and thought that they were perfect for each other. Jagger put a stamp on my heart right off the bat and I loved his character.Letting Go is a heartwarming, emotional story about learning to move on and deal with grief. This is a fairly quick read and I really enjoyed it. McAdams did a wonderful job balancing out the sad parts with the sexy parts. This is definitely a love story, but it also looks at all the aspects of grief. Both of the main characters lost someone they cared about deeply and watching them deal with that lost was both hard and inspirational. The romance developed perfectly and felt very realistic to me. The plot held a few surprises that actually added some great drama to the story and the pacing was spot on. I will admit that I read this about a week ago or so and I am having a little bit of a hard time recalling some of the things that happened in the story. I wouldn’t say its forgettable per say, but it’s not extremely memorable either. I have come to realize that McAdams stories can be hit or miss for me, but luckily this one was definitely a hit. Even though I haven’t loved everything she has written, I still think she is an amazing author and really look forward to reading more from her in the future. I would highly recommend this book if you are looking for a fast, sexy story filled with emotion and romance.Notable Scene:“No one else,” I said softly. “As unfair and horrible as it is for me to say it, I know it would kill me to see you with someone else. I don’t know when I feel in love with you. I can’t look back and remember when exactly it changed for me, only that it has.”“I don’t care about the when, Grey.” He smiled as he leaned in and placed another deceptively soft kiss on my lips. What seemed so innocent had my legs weakening and my eyelids fluttering shut as I clung to his shirt. “What’s next?” he breathed against my lips when he pulled back.FTC Advisory: William Morrow/Harper Collins provided me with a copy of Letting Go. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.

Thanks Librarything for a free book to read and review. My first impression: well what do you expect from a world of fucked up people.People have to die, it's expected. When people take fantasy and want to add people who die young...well it feels morbid. It's part of life and shit happens....right?When Ben dies just three days before marrying his childhood sweetheart....that sucks. Leap ahead two years and you have a beautiful young woman who can't move on and is still surviving.....barely. Once the entire book pans out, you will realize that she wasted two years being mournful over this dead guy... Bad luck. Overall entertainment was four stars. I just felt bad for Grey and Jagger after all the truths come out.
