Описание
It's been a sleepy summer for the folks of Lake Eden, Minnesota. In fact, it's been a whole four months since anyone in the Swensen family has come across a dead body. And that means Hannah Swensen can finally focus on her bakery. . .or can she?
Life is never really quiet for Hannah. After all, her mother's wedding is a little over a month away and guess who Delores put in charge of the planning? Yet just when Hannah believes her biggest challenge will be whether to use buttercream or fondant for the wedding cake, she accidentally hits a stranger with her truck while driving down a country road in a raging thunderstorm.
Hannah is wracked with guilt, and things get even worse when she's arrested...for murder! But an autopsy soon reveals the mystery man, his shirt covered in stains from blackberry pie, would have died even if Hannah hadn't hit him. Now, to clear her name, Hannah will have to follow a trail of pie crumbs to track down the identity of the deceased, find a baker who knows more about murder than how to roll out a perfect pie crust--and get herself to the church on time.

Hannah Swensen and her business partner, Lisa, are caught in a downpour with thunder and lightning where Hannah can barely see. Trying to avoid a branch, she hits a man who dies and later is arrested and put in a holding cell for the weekend on the charge of vehicular homicide. After bail is met (by whom is something you have to read to find out), she not only continues to work to find out who this anonymous stranger is, but she helps Michelle’s friend find out if her long lost sister, who does look a lot like her friend, is really her sister. Gathering recipes along the way, Hannah continues her sleuthing. In the meantime, her mother continually changes her mind one everything to do with her upcoming nuptials to, well, I won’t say since if you’re doing this series on order, you don’t want to know.
The good news: it looks like Hannah is finally going to make up her mind to make the correct choice on whom to marry. There are significant differences in this tale as compared with the other two I listened to, and it ends on a cliffhanger because Hannah still hasn’t had her day in court.
This is the best of the three Hannah Swenson books I’ve listened to, even though I only chose it for a challenge where I needed a book with fruit or vegetables on the cover and I could listen to this while driving.
