About this audiobook

ZANDER-The most feared of all the Eternal Guardians. It's rumored he can't be killed, and he always fights like he has nothing to lose. But as a descendant of the famed hero Achilles, he's got to have a vulnerability . . . somewhere.

Forces of daemons are gathering and have broken through the barriers of the Underworld. Now more than ever the Eternal Guardians are needed to protect both their own realm and the humans'. Zander can't afford to think about what might have been with the bewitching physician he once regarded as his soul mate. But with eternity stretching before him, he also can't fathom spending his life without the one woman who makes him feel most alive. Perhaps he's found his weakness, after all . . .

AUTHOR: My second time reading a book by Elisabeth Naughton. She has rhythm in her books; great stop and go rhythm. She knows how to pull you in and spread various situations out. Some people seem to think humor is necessary to write a good book; Elisabeth's writing style makes humor completely unnecessary so that's okay. She puts in an itty bitty just to smooth some adventurous edges (hardly enough to notice). She's good.SYNOPSISConcentration on Zander (Argonaut and Argolean warrior); Isadora, Casey and Callie (2 Argolean, 1 Misos); Daemons and their female leader Atalanta (bad guys); Simon (a father); Max (a son); Orpheus (sneeky devil he is); Loukas (the Argolean you will love to hate); naturally a host of gods and a few witchesPrepare to sit on the edge of your seat in the first one-third of the book. All types of sad and impossible situations. Things slowly fan out and the impossible situations open and unravel. A child pawned and in peril.. A woman that does not love a man (or does she) so he commits to another. A man who does not love a woman (or does he) so she tries to move on but is constantly drawn back in by one circumstance or another. Mysterious powers and abilities are being discovered all over the place. And, the princess comes out of her shell.SEX SCALE: Of the following (5) : (NOT very descriptive and requires imagination); (WILL make you wiggle a little); (WISH it was me); (OH boy, do not have to use my imagination at all); (EROTICA and well over the top) ****** this book gets a WILL MAKE YOU WIGGLE A LITTLE rating******LEAST FAVORITE PART: Entire first one-third of the book was too sad for me in a drawn out way but it did draw me in..FAVORITE PART: When the "son" was found. Entwined is the second book in the Eternal Guardian series. I have really learned to love this author, and the theme to this series has been such fun to explore. Entwined is the story about Zander and Callia. Entwined is a audiobook, and the narrator is Elizabeth Wiley, who has become a favorite of mine. After having read two other books in the series, I have fallen in love with this author. From the previous book we see Callia, who is the king's healer. Entwined is her story along with Zander. We don't see too much of him in the previous book, so it was good to see way more in depth of Zander. This story, starts off with the King demanding that a Argenaut marry his daughter Isadora. At first he demands that it be Dimitri, but then Zander steps in when Dimitri refuses. Zander believes himself to be immortal, unable to die. So he figures he only has five hundred years to lose, unlike the others, he has lived long enough to know their fathers and grandfathers. Even knowing he has a lifemate, believing that they have no future. But when Zander goes on a mission to the mortal world, he is injured trying to save half breeds, and Callia is then brought to him to heal him. Thus begins Zander and Callia starting out on a adventure where misunderstandings threaten their future, but when danger escalates with the demons, Zander and Callia will have to learn to trust each other once again if they want to survive.Entwined was a thrilling installment of the Eternal Guardians. There is actually quite a bit that goes on in this story. Some of which I don't want to give away, so I don't spoil the book for those that haven't read it yet. This couple has serious trust issues, probably due to lack of communication and betrayal of those they trust the most. Zander and Callia have been separated even knowing they are destined for each other. I do wish that there had been some flashbacks in this story, to understand their relationship from the past a bit more deeper. But as the plot progresses, you get enough to put everything together. We get to see more of the Guardians, Isadora, and the half breeds. Atlanta-the queen of the demons, rears her ugly head once again, and we see more of her cruelty. Then we see a new character Max (who was my favorite). Those of you who have read Entwined, definitely understand I would think. Charming and sweet, and I was totally cheering for him all the way. From the beginning to end this story was enriched with emotion, passion and zest.Overall a suspenseful story that takes you away in passion and adventure, enough to blow your mind away. A phenomenal romance that will bring a few tears to your eye, a story to pull at your heart strings, and a book to be sealed up into the memory of the reader.ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!

As the Argonaut descended from Achilles, Zander has lived for over 800 years. In all that time, he has exhibited only one weakness: Callia, the love of his life who also betrayed him in the most fundamental of ways. Callia, healer to the King of Argolea, has given up on the life she once dreamed of having with Zander. However, fate has more in store for these seemingly star-crossed lovers because old secrets are about to come to light that may either rekindle the love and passion they felt so long ago, or will destroy them once and for all.

Zander and Callia’s second chances romance has tremendous potential. Unfortunately, their emotional connection is completely undermined by the angst, distrust and inability to communicate that characterizes their relationship. They are constantly at odds with one another even after the lies that separated them are revealed, and it is difficult to appreciate them either as individuals or as a couple. Callia, in particular, is a problematic heroine as the choices she made both in the past and in the present are completely incomprehensible what woman chooses to be flogged for infidelity or decides to accept and even encourage her soul mate’s binding to another?

In contrast, the secondary characters are far more interesting. The curious animosity between Isadora and Demetrius, the intriguing mystery that surrounds Orpheus’s true nature, and the compelling secrets behind Nick’s scarred facade all indicate that there are some exciting things to come.

Moreover, the developments in the ongoing story arc are engrossing. The elements and symbolism of Greek mythology together with the various conflicts (i.e., Atalanta vs. the Argonauts, the Argolean monarchy vs. the council, and the Argoleans vs. Misos) establish a complex and captivating world that I am eager to learn more about.

In sum, Entwined is a satisfying read despite its shortcomings and I am looking forward to Isadora and Demetrius’s upcoming showdown.

Zander and Callia... Great couple together! I also am really enjoying the plot that is extending over the whole series. Some series are just linked by the characters which I enjoy too but this is just a wee bit better :)

I'm feeling great things about this series after the first two books. This is a little more on the serious side than the Stolen trilogy was, and despite of being a little on the paranormal side, I feel the author's portrait of the characters can be seen on a contemporary romance. I really, really loved Zander and Callia together; don't know if it was because of their past history, which I think is almost always more interesting to see how things develop than when the couple don't know each other previously. It was great to see that all the characters have some kind of connection, beeing it that they're friends, lovers, gods, mortal enemies, sisters or they are just helping some of the characters out. Everything is so entwined here that I feel I know at least a little bit of all the characters mentioned up until this point. Can't wait to read more!

3.5 stars perhaps. I liked it better than the first book but they still aren't necessarily making me want to rush to the next one. I'll read 3 though just to see what the deal is with Demetrios.

I felt a lot of angst reading this book. It took a lot of time to unfold.... almost to the last page. But it was a happy ending. I will read on!

Entwined continues much in the same vein as Marked and focuses on Zander. He makes a good tortured soul and the breach with his soulmate is believable. I generally enjoyed the book. If anything I think that it is better than the first. The world building was done in book one leaving more room for story here. I really liked that the Brothers...oh, did I say that...Arghonauts interact more. I like their snarky comments to one another. The women aren't wilting violets and are more than willing to stand up for themselves, even if their culture doesn't approve. I did have a few issues worth venting about though. How did Atalanta manage to raise Max to be a good kid? I'm having a hard time believing he would be psychologically sound after ten years with her. I'm just saying. Did Callia's father really deserve to be forgiven so quickly? Did Zander for that matter? The happy ending seemed a little too convenient. If it was being arranged ahead of time, surely someone would have said something or the existing plans would have been canceled. Lastly, the book could do with a bit more editing. There are some inconsistencies, like "she covered her hand with her mouth," instead of mouth with hand or Isadora saying "because Casey and I don't have children yet," when Isadora and Casey aren't mated to one another and are both female. There are also a lot of fragment sentences. I realize that lines such as "That hurt. A lot." is a writing device intended to force the reader to stop, thereby emphasizing the last statement. But here it is used so much and in such a manner that it often just felt too jarring, commas would have a similar effect and not have rattled my brain so much. Despite all of that I enjoyed the read. Zander and Callia are a steamy couple. The Eternal Guardian's effort to protect their worlds is honorable and the politics of Argolea interesting. I look forward to reading the third in the series.

I found Entwined full of adventure and suspense, very similar to the first book Marked in this new paranormal romance series by Elisabeth Naughton. The difference between these demons is that they reside in the underworld and don't have an ounce of redeeming qualities about them, not mention they are horrendous. There is enough of an unique vibe about this series that I plan on picking the next book in this series because the way this Entwined ended, there has to be more and I need to know how all the loose ends will be tied up.

Zander has lived for a very long time, and fears that he will never die. He is a great guardian protecting a hidden world and half-breeds out in the human world. But he also feels that he has nothing to live for after his soul mate left. He is hurt deeply. And now demons are hunting in the human world and the half-breed colonies are under attack as the goddess Atalanta is trying to take over. And she wants the guardians dead, together with the rest. But then he meets his soul mate again.I liked the mythology in this one. Atalanta has taken twisted humans that turns into demons out of Hades. She attacks half-breeds, one parent human, the other Argolean who lived in this closed off realm. For protection they have the guardians who all are descended from the Argonauts. There is magic there and they live for a long time. And of course the Greek gods are all true. Now that I like.Zander who is descendant from Achilles has lived for over 800 years and he is tired of it. He is protective, strong, and he loves deeply someone who turned away. Here we learn why. She, Callia is a healer, also very protective and strong. And I wonder what happened, but just gotta read on. They obviously want each other. There is also a sidestory with a kid, Maximus who is in Atalanta's grip. There is some ass-kicking, they do want to kick those demon butts back to the underworld. And then there is the troubled love affair between two people who love each other and are so angry at each other at the same time.I shall not forget the court intrigues since the king is having trouble from the council and wants the princess to marry an Argonaut, and there again I wonder who it will be. It looks to be an interesting book 3, I assume she will be the heroine, and as for the man, well read on.Cool side characters too, like what's the deal with Orpheus? He seems interesting, but do I trust him? In the end, an interesting paranormal romance.

Zander is a descendant of Achilles. It is said that he is immortal and can't be killed. But he must have some kind of weakness. Everybody has at least one. Being an Eternal Guardian, Zander is the protector of his realm and of Earth. Everyday the danger grows -- he must stay on the course and not have distractions. That was his game plan until Callia walked back into his life. This was an enjoyable read for me. Entwined is intense, action-packed and has sizzling hot scenes. I liked Zander quite a lot, he's definitely an interesting character. The kind of character I enjoy reading about. He is feared and a bit of a bad ass, I think that will appeal to a lot of readers. There were a few times in the beginning that the story dragged for me, but otherwise it was a good read. If you are a lover of Alpha heroes and Greek mythology you are gonna really enjoy this book and series.
