To Tempt a Sheik is your classic Harlequin Desire romance. The man is, of course, an exquisite and preternaturally wealthy Adonis while the woman is usually some sort of wallflower-ish type who thoroughly blossoms into her full womanly potential while under his care/protection and, I need not add, his bedcovers. But let's face it—that's what we're here for.

The actual story is pretty good. Harres & Talia's banter was fun, and the plot was decently crafted. I especially appreciated how the couple worked out the Major Conflict between them near the end. It wasn't excruciating drama for the sake of excruciating drama; they behaved like adults and were able to resolve the matter through reasonable and believable means, without sacrificing any of the plot or the feel of the story. I also liked the more exotic desert setting and there were enough steamy scenes without feeling excessive.

The one thing that I didn't much like was Harres' physical insta-reaction to Talia, even before he knows who she really is. It was kind of weird, I thought, but that's not a major focal point of the story anyway.

At a little over five and a half hours, this is perfect for a longish drive or other kind of trip, maybe something to listen to while on vacation, etc. The narrator does a fine job as well.
