About this audiobook

Love—on the rocks….

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to scream or cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together.

Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she's normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads. But Lydia's already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong--maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

Dirty is the first audiobook in the Dive Bar series from bestselling author Kylie Scott.

I love the story but the reader could have been a little more animated. She needs work on expressing emotion in her story telling.

I've forgotten how much I love Kylie Scott's writing.

Dirty started off with such a surprise entrance of both characters. Lydia's running away from her own wedding on the day she's supposed to walk down to her happily ever after. Instead she's hiking over a fence in a wedding dress, climbing through a house window and squating in someones bath. In all fairness she does believe no ones living in the property... until Vaughn walks in naked to pee.

From there the story just continues to get more crazy and chaotic. As you start to understand both characters the story just makes sense and completely suits their personality on every level. Getting to see some of the old characters from Stage Dive made my heart melt and I think I might need a reread.

The only thing I wanted more of was the ending, everything was quick and very wham, bam, thank you mam. Everything I wanted but just over too quickly. However it was very Vaughn style.

This was a fun read with some slightly unexplored angst. Lydia is an awesome heroine who stands up for herself. Hero Vaughan has way more issues that aren’t figured out as much, but he has her back and loves her. The Dive Bar family was interesting, and I’m going to continue with them.

Did I mention Kylie Scott is stupid addictive. Glad I'm on PTO or I'd be in trouble...

Low on conflict, high on drama. Great sexy times. Love Vaughn. Mal as a cameo character aka romance oracle is becoming a thing I think.

I'd be far more clever, but no keyboard y'all.

I wanted a sexy fun audiobook as I had a lot of driving to do, and I got my sexy fun audiobook in spades. Loved it! Given the title and the cover photo I expected real smut, and it was not that. It's a proper whirlwind romance. There is semi-graphic sex, spicy but free of fetish. I would not classify it as erotica since it is never really about sex -- rather the physical relationship flows with the story. It is sweet and amusing and authentic (no 28 year old billionaires, but 28 year old semi-failed musicians with money problems and emotional baggage of the sort we all have.) The funny and sexy leads are people you would want to hang out with and there are really good secondary characters as well. The reader was lively and fun and a great fit for the material. I am completely onboard, and will be reading more Kylie Scott soon.

Absolutely loved this book! I got even more excited when Mal showed up. Mal had stole my heart but I'm starting to think Vaughan may just be giving our boy Mal a run for his money and I'm quite okay with that. Just like I have re read play over and over Dirty when stay on my kindle for many re reads.

I really enjoyed this audiobook. I bought this audio when it was on sale several months ago planning to read it when I was in the mood for a contemporary romance. I started listening to it when I was ready for a fun romance and it really worked out well for me. This is the first book by Kylie Scott that I have read so I had no idea what to expect but it turned out to a great experience. I had so much fun with this book that I found myself finding chores to do around the house so that I would have an excuse to listen to the book just a little bit longer. The set up in the book was wonderfully done. My heart broke for Lydia at the same time that I was wanting to laugh at the situation she ended up in. Lydia decides to run away from her own wedding when she realizes her fiance is having an affair with the best man. She jumps the fence and climbs into an open window at the house next door.Vaughan finds her later that day hanging out in his shower and turns out to be a very accommodating host. They start to bond just a bit before more drama shows up at his doorstep. Vaughan and Lydia had great chemistry from the very beginning of this story but their relationship never felt rushed. I really liked the pair together as a couple and it was nice to see how much they really complimented each other. Lydia just seemed to fit perfectly into Vaughan's life.Andi Arndt is one of my favorite narrators. One of the reasons that I decided to buy this audiobook was the fact that she is the narrator. She did a great job with this book and I had no problems listening to the book for hours at a time. She performed all of the character voices very well and portrayed a wide range of emotions during the story. I hope to listen to more books narrated by Andi Arndt soon.I would recommend this book to fans of contemporary romance. This story had a great balance of humor and romance and ended up being a whole lot of fun. I hope to read more of this series from Kylie Scott soon.

Having read the Stage Dive series, Kylie Scott's writing is like a familiar old friend. That said, maybe a little too familiar. Dirty, the first book of the Dive Bar series, feels almost recycled from the Stage Dive series. Lydia finds herself on the run from a disastrous would-be wedding, over a fence and right through Vaughan's window into his bathtub. Where she finds herself face to crotch with the man himself, who has just returned home after the breakup of his band. Both down on their luck they strike up a friendship, I guess, and things progress from there. Quickly. As the whole book takes place over the course of a week. No moving slow, taking your time here. Moving in, ups and down, and of course sex, it feels like the book should take place over months, not days. But days it is, and when the week is up they are supposed to go on their own separate ways.I don't know, I mean I liked it. Scott's writing is smooth and mostly easy to follow. But it felt pretty predictable at this point.

Delightful, Delicious and a little bit Dirty – what a fantastic story and great new series in the making! Lydia Green had a bad day, a very bad day that just happened to be her wedding day. A surprise and a half appeared on her phone and off she ran to get away. The first spot she could find she hunkered down and took a breath only to be walked in on by the owner of the house. Vaughan Hewson is an eyeful, in more ways than one, and a whole lot different than the ex-fiancé she left behind. They hit it off pretty well and spend quality time together as they both begin to deal with issues they are facing in their lives. Into the picture add Nell, Vaughan’s sister. She has a lot going on in her life, too, and finagles them both into helping out in her bar. Having never read a book by Kylie Scott I wasn’t sure what to expect but I smiled a lot, really got to like the characters and now am eager to find out what will happen to Nell, Pat, Eric, Joe and Andre. I am sure there is someone I might have missed but these all need their stories told and I look forward to reading each and every one of them! Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Griffin for a free copy of this wonderful story in exchange for my honest review!

4.5 "Runaway Bride" Stars! Having fallen in love with Kylie Scott's writing in the Stage Drive Series, I just knew I had to read Dirty the moment I read the blurb. Once again, Ms. Scott pulls off an engaging, deliciously seductive romance with, in this case, even a decent dose of comedy to keep you entertained along the way.In a quasi-spin-off of the Stage Dive Series, Ms. Scott's debut of the Dive Bar Series even features a cameo by one of my favorite Stage Dive characters (Mal). The hero of Dirty, Vaughan, is a member of a group that used to open for Stage Dive. Now on a respite from his musical career, after his band broke-up, and back home in his hometown for short stint in between, Vaughan lands head first into quite the drama of the town when he finds a runaway bride, Lydia Green, in the shower of his home.Instead of shooing her away though, Vaughan proves to be quite the friend to Lydia, who is new to town and feels all alone after learning a devastating truth about the man she thought she wanted to marry ... literally minutes before walking down the aisle. Vaughan, moreover, has a way of making Lydia finally feel desired, even though she is somewhat self-cautious about her appearance, given the way she describes herself as generously sized. Moreover, pretty soon Vaughan is introducing Lydia to his sister and friends, and Lydia finds herself intertwined with the small town and its people. However, when friendship starts to turn into passion, Lydia must decide whether she is willing to lay her heart out on the line again, especially to a man like Vaughan, who has made it abundantly clear that as soon as he can settle his business at home, he is going back on the road for his musical career. Can there possibly be a HEA under the circumstances? If you love rooting for vindication and the underdog, and love a little heat and spice along with your romantic comedy, then you will definitely want to give Dirty a read! Oh, how I loved this book. I haven't read anything by this author before and I'm really rather sad about that. So many books I've missed out on. Especially the series about Stage Dive, the band. I'm definitely going to go buy them right after this. I loved the banter between Vaughn and Lydia. They sounded like two people I'd love to be friends with. Actually, I think just about everyone at Dive Bar would be cool to hang out with. Even though it was a fast relationship, it was filled with a year's worth of crap thrown at them all. That seemed to kinda even it out. I can't wait to read more from Kylie. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

3.5 Stars | Hot SteamAs sad as I was for Kylie Scott’s wonderful Stage Dive series to come to an end, I was so excited to try her brand new spin-off series. In DIRTY, the first of the Dive Bar novels, Scott graciously provides us with a familiar and blazing-hot rockstar-on-hiatus to salivate over as well as a strong and hilarious heroine to adore. We’re also treated (*throws confetti*) to an entirely new crop of diverse, delicious, tatted-up, sometimes bearded—and all beautiful—males to obsess about and eagerly anticipate future torrid HEAs for. Oh, the wicked possibilities…When we first meet her, jilted, unsteady, and discouraged, Lydia is a hilarious mess. However, with Vaughn’s unwavering support and friendship, she finds her footing, acceptance, and her libido brightly awakened. I admired her fortitude and adaptability despite all of the negativity surrounding her. I also loved how she swiftly dismissed her lingering self consciousness, embraced her curves, and pounced on her attraction to Vaughn. One of Scott’s finest heroes to date, Vaughn is simply magnificent! Zero ego, loyal, kind, loving, talented, and compassionate all day long. At night, he’s a carnal fantasy—passionate, focused, hungry, insatiable, and thoroughly thorough in the bedroom. Not an inch of Lydia’s envious body is left untasted or unexplored. Their incendiary encounters are page-turning perfection and, unsurprisingly, my favorite scenes from the book.Engaging, playful, and wildly sensual, DIRTY is a seductive start to a promising new series. I can hardly wait for TWIST, Alex and Joe’s story, to release in November. I predict another up-all-night read!Complimentary copy provided in exchange for an honest review.

This story starts as a very amusing tale as Lydia makes the best of an escape from her planned wedding by scurrying through streams and woods, over a wood fence and landing in sexy neighbour Vaughn's bath tub, all in her wedding dress. Great fun, and a great story as it unfolds with wonderful added secondary characters for future stories in the series. I loved it! 5/5
