About this audiobook
“…a captivating read, made all the more rewarding when good triumphs.” —Washington Post
Growing up in a small town isn’t easy, especially when you’re the daughter of a local cult leader. Ten years ago, Eden Collins left Clear Springs, Montana, and never once looked back. But when the bodies of murdered young women surface, their corpses violated and marked with tattoos worn by her mother’s followers, Eden, now an FBI agent, can’t turn a blind eye. To catch the killer, she’s going to have to return to the fold.
Sheriff Zach Owens isn’t comfortable putting Eden in danger, even if she is an elite agent. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to be so attracted to her. As calm and cool as she appears, he knows this can’t be a happy homecoming. Zach wants to protect her—from her mother, the cult, and the evil that lurks behind its locked gates. But Eden is his only key to the tight-lipped group, and she may just be closer to the killer than either one of them suspects…
Katee Robert
New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Katee Robert learned to tell her stories at her grandfather's knee. Her 2015 title, The Marriage Contract, was a RITA finalist, and RT Book Reviews named it "a compulsively readable book." When not writing sexy contemporary or romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A nice story to start a new series... the whole cult threw me off a little bit but I did enjoy it.
kinda wished there was a backup story for the BAU office especially their boss.
never the less it's a nice crime/romance series. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I really liked this one. As Harold travels to see his old friend Queenie he discovers alot about himself and his past. Convinced that as long as he is walking, Queenie will wait for him. When the book begins, we know little about harold, Queenie, and their connection with the exception that she is dying and he has wronged her somehow in the past. While usually I find not being let in on the whole story annoying, it is not so in this book. Joyce reveals little details about Harold and his life at just the right times. She waits until you are rooting for Harold before sharing his secrets. Along the road Harold meets people that contribute to his pilgrimage and people that take away from it. Either way they contribute to reshaping Harold's life. The only thing that kept this book from being 5 stars is that I was dissapointed in the ending. It is a quick read that is full of words of wisdom that you will find yourself jotting down.
