Описание

The mesmerizing debut about a coolly manipulative woman and a wealthy "golden couple," from a stunning new voice in psychological suspense.

Some women get everything. Some women get everything they deserve.

Amber Patterson is fed up. She's tired of being a nobody: a plain, invisible woman who blends into the background. She deserves more—a life of money and power like the one blond-haired, blue-eyed goddess Daphne Parrish takes for granted.

To everyone in the exclusive town of Bishops Harbor, Connecticut, Daphne—a socialite and philanthropist—and her real-estate mogul husband, Jackson, are a couple straight out of a fairy tale.

Amber's envy could eat her alive . . . if she didn't have a plan. Amber uses Daphne's compassion and caring to insinuate herself into the family's life—the first step in a meticulous scheme to undermine her. Before long, Amber is Daphne's closest confidante, traveling to Europe with the Parrishes and their lovely young daughters, and growing closer to Jackson. But a skeleton from her past may undermine everything that Amber has worked towards, and if it is discovered, her well-laid plan may fall to pieces.

With shocking turns and dark secrets that will keep you guessing until the very end, The Last Mrs. Parrish is a fresh, juicy, and utterly addictive thriller from a diabolically imaginative talent.

Great twist! I really enjoyed the story and the perspective shift.
  • (4/5)
Gahhhh. It made me so angry reading it. I wish it would have given more on Amber’s background instead of the quick snippet at the end.

Really good thriller. Couldn’t put it down. I definitely recommend it

I Loved the twist and points of view! Great book

This is such a well written book. It’s written from two different perspectives. The second perspective retells the story and your mind will be blown when you hear it from another perspective. The twists and turns keep coming. And at the end, revenge is so sweet!

this book was amazing I never saw it coming. great writing

Pretty good. Impressive ending, but does take a while to get there. Would give 4.5 if I could
  • (1/5)
Cliche and gratuitous. Characters unlikeable. There has to be some small reason to root for someone. That maybe comes, but not until 2/3 through the book, if you make it that long.
  • (3/5)
Just ok. I didn't find any of the characters interesting.
  • (5/5)
A very fun read! Great plot twist and turns! I am going to check out other books by this author

Excellent narration- interesting characters- fun plot. Adult content. Great summer read.

Page turner! What great writing, such suspense! I couldn’t stop reading/listening to this book!
  • (3/5)
The first half of the book was very repetitive on the main character’s negative attitude. Telling over and over and over what a victim she was. The point was made the first few times. The second half was much more to the point without wasting the same words.

Slow to start but the end was nice and twisty
  • (5/5)
Really interesting...although with all the hype I was able to see the plot twist coming a mile away. Still kept me listening though.
  • (5/5)
Great story with an awesome ending. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This is a comprehensive book: complex relationships, complex characters, a woman who appears so gullible ends up being top dog or is it top bitch! It is a long read but the changes of direction prevent it from feeling dull.

An alternative title could be, Living with a sociopath.

This book was better than I thought it was going to be. I would definitely read it again.
  • (5/5)
It started slow but took an unexpected turn. It’s worth the listen
  • (1/5)
No candy coating this one. It was a terrible book.
  • (5/5)
This was a fabulous book. A must read. Loved how we got to see it from different points of view.
  • (4/5)
Not a total “wow”, but definitely entertaining. Similar to a number of books out there with the theme of “Prince Charming turned the husband from hell” , but with some interesting twists. Good but not great.
  • (2/5)
Not to my taste. I felt I could predict the way the story would evolve.
  • (5/5)
Really enjoyed this! Great twist and satisfying end to it
  • (5/5)
I didn’t really especially this book to take that turn!!! Very very satisfying read
  • (4/5)
I really enjoyed this book. If you like domestic thrillers about a crazy husband and gold digging friend this book is for you. I flew threw it in a few days. I would recommend.

I thought it was predictable and unrealistic. The dialog between the characters, especially Jackson’s part, seemed very unnatural and unlikely. Other parts didn’t make sense like the timing of when Amber broke up with Greg and that there were no surveillance cameras or security to catch Jackson even though no expense was spared otherwise. I thought the story of Jackson and Daphne could’ve been told better going from better times and then more events showing their marriage deteriorate into the violent relationship it became. It’s unlikely that someone would flip like a switch that quickly. It was okay, but it read like a soap opera being unrealistic.
