About this audiobook

What happens when your high school nemesis becomes the shining star in a universe you pretty much saved? Book blogger Kimberly Long is about to find out.

A chick lit enthusiast since the first time she read Bridget Jones's Diary, Kim, with her blog, Pastel is the New Black, has worked tirelessly by night to keep the genre alive, and help squash the claim that "chick lit is dead" once and for all. Not bad for a woman who by day ekes out a meager living as a pretty, and pretty-much-nameless, legal secretary in a Manhattan law firm. While Kim's day job holds no passion for her, the handsome (and shaving challenged) associate down the hall is another story. Yet another story is that Hannah Marshak, one of her most hated high school classmates, has now popped onto the chick lit scene with a hot new book that's turning heads-and pages-across the land. It's also popped into Kim's inbox-for review.

With their ten-year reunion drawing near, Kim's coming close to combustion over the hype about Hannah's book. And as everyone around her seems to be moving on and up, she begins to question whether being a "blogger girl" makes the grade in her offline life.

Oh this was such a fun book! I really enjoyed it. The writing was really light and I immediately identified with the main characters. Kim, Nicholas, Bridget, all of them were so relatable, that made the story seem so much better. I know how it feels to have someone who annoyed you and was rude to you lord over you when you meet in the future. So, I know exactly how Kim felt. And I think all of us have that one evil person in our life. I'm just really glad Kim was able to move on.

The writer captures this thing that all of us do so well. We're so wrapped up in our own worlds. We think the world revolves around us. Everyone around us is only thinking about us. And that bubble gets burst throughout the book in a very gentle way. And I really appreciated that. All the interactions in the book were witty and really enjoyable.

I do have one and only one complaint. There is one scene relating to a bath spa, and whatever happened afterwards just seems like bad taste. I felt the characters and their reactions were immature and that made me feel badly towards them. It felt so out of character for them to be so bitchy and judgemental, I kind of felt the scene could have been written more sensitively.

I got this book this morning and I set out reading it right away. I was going to wait until tonight but I couldn't think of anything better to do than read a new book.Kim Long is a legal secretary at a law firm. She used to work for Rob at the old firm but when he moved, he brought her with him. She enjoyed working for Rob because he wasn't hard to work for. At this new job, she had some eye candy. An associate name Nicholas Strong. She'd been at the firm for about four months when they "officially" talked for the first time after Rob mentioned Kim's blog in front of Nicholas. Kim keeps a chic lit blog and it has become very successful. Many authors, publishers and agents were contacting her to review their books on her blog and she was backed up.Her and Nicholas eventually begin going out, even though she doesn't know whether to consider them boyfriend or girlfriend. Kim had her ten year high school reunion to attend and she was tracked down by none other than Hannah Marschek, the popular girl from high-school who tried and failed to make her life hell during those four years.Hannah had written a book and wanted Kim to review it but Kim really didn't want to. She didn't want to be nice to the popular girl from high school and she certainly didn't want to review Hannah's book on her blog if it was a good read. What does she do on this situation?Nicholas pushes Kim to realize that she really wants to be a writer instead of a legal secretary. So, instead of accepting what he says, she snaps on him. They get into a fight and it ends with Nicholas leaving her apartment while slamming the door behind him. What all happens with Kim? What about Kim and Nicholas? There are more characters in the book that you grow to like as well such as Caroline, Johnathon and Bridget as well as some other office workers.-------------------------------------------------------This book was good. I started reading it and just couldn't put it down. I rarely have books that I hate putting down or ones that I refuse to put down. This falls in the latter category. This book has love, lust, friendship, romance and more in it. I could very seriously see the things happening in this book, happening in real life! It is that believable. I would highly recommend this book to all readers who enjoy romance or contemporary books.----------------------------------------------------------407 pages

Here is a summary of what the book is about. A chick lit enthusiast since the first time she read Bridget Jones’s Diary, book blogger Kim Long has worked tirelessly to squash the claim that “chick lit is dead” once and for all. Not bad for a woman who by day ekes out a meager living as a pretty, and pretty-much-nameless, legal secretary in Manhattan. But while she finds no passion in the day job, she finds plenty in the handsome associate down the hall. At least until her high school nemesis, mean girl Hannah Marshak, bursts back into town. Not only does she flash onto the chick lit scene with a hot new book that’s turning heads—and pages—but Kim’s afraid she’s turning the head of her handsome colleague as well. Adding salt to her wounded heart, Hannah’s book has popped into Kim’s inbox—along with a request for review. With a mere click of her mouse, Kim can deliver a nasty one-star review to thousands of followers. She would rather toss her favorite designer shoes in a trash heap than help promote Hannah’s career. But does she become a mean girl herself or put on her big-girl panties and be professional in spite of the past? With everyone around her moving on and up, Kim begins to question whether being a “blogger girl” makes the grade in her offline life. But is Hannah really the problem, or will her success be the push Kim needs to unearth a dream she’s kept hidden for years?I enjoyed reading this book. I liked the characters. I think it’s a book we book review bloggers can relate to. I would recommend this book. It’s a good cute story. Happy Reading Everyone!

I've definitely found a new author. This is the second book I've read by this author and I've read them both this month! The Blogger Girl series is actually pretty funny especially when her arch nemesis from high school wants her to read and review her new chick lit book. Of course, in high school, all this girl wanted to do was make her life miserable. So Blogger Girl (Kimberly) has a huge dilemma. Should she make nice and read this girl's book? And why oh why is this girl turning up everywhere she goes? And then of course, there's the associate down the hall at work. Try as she may, she just doesn't seem to get his attention. Until she finally does and then her boss hires the new associate, (forget her name, but it starts with "D", her nickname starts with "S" and it's a good one) who has made it her job duty to make Kimberly's live miserable. This was an entertaining, funny and just couldn't put it down read. And as I can't wait for the next one, I don't have to. It's already on my TBR pile. I think this is going to be a great series and I'm ready for it!Thanks to Henery Press for approving my request and to Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest review.

A very fun light hearted novel that chick lit readers can relate to on many levels so it draws the reader in quite quickly. Kim and her story have many book bloggers waving and cheering no doubt. I found however as much as I liked her and loved all of the characters who enhance the story continually, she was immature at times and I felt disappointed that it lowered my level of admiration for her, yet her honesty throughout the book is quite commendable which did gave me an occasional chuckle and cringe accordingly. Overall it is a satisfying read. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
