God

God has been grabbing headlines ever since first creating the universe. Indeed, the multi-talented deity has been involved in the development of every single thing that has ever happened, including the Crusades, plate tectonics, and Seinfeld. His previous serious works as an author, The Old Testament, The New Testament, and The Koran, have sold an impressive 5 billion copies, with the first two in particular coming to be collectively regarded as something of a bible of their field.

I have been dissapointed with this series (which is why I only own two of them). If you're looking for good quotes, this is a good source. Don't expect, however, to glean a lot of exegetical or theological insights from these commentaries.

I have studied Mark for may years and have taught it for the past couple, and as such I am always interested in new approaches. I found this Graphic Novel version very intriguing, though not being a reader of graphic novels the genre is not very familar to me. Certainly it is striking, and clears seeks to get to grips with the text in a new way, and so is well worth a read. Whether it would be a good introduction to the Gospel of Mark (or to Jesu Christ) I am not sure, but perhaps for those who read graphic novels more than I do it would - perhaps some of the symbolism which was a bit lost on me might be more obvious to others. In any case it is a bold and interesting book.
